Yes, the update apparently fixed the input issue....and simultaneously erased every past water amount I had entered daily, going back to December 2023. The new system apparently interpreted the old amounts I had entered as 1 oz each, so a 2-water bottle day is now a 2-oz day.
Seriously what the heck.

Update. on 4/17/25, I updated the to the latest version of software. Again, my water intake for the past years has been deleted and changed to 2%.
Also, what happened to actually seeing the amount when you clicked Glass, Bottle, Large Bottle or Custom Amount. You click it, click save, and THEN see the amount on another page. C'mon.

I still cannot log my water intake or even see past units.

Looks like completely deleting the app now allows me to log water. Previous to 4/1 all water log oz have been converted into a different measurement 😐

More curious water count confusion for you.
So I entered 16 fl oz in the phone app, my Fitbit Versa now thinks I have 473.2 oz logged for the day.
--------
Then added another 32 oz via the phone- 1,419.5fl oz on the Fitbit.
boy that’s some wacky math.

Hi everyone!
I have great news to share. A fix for this issue regarding your historical data showing up in ounces is coming in our next app release. The Fitbit app 4.43 is slowly rolling-out to all our members, so please install it as soon as you see it available in the App store.
I appreciate your feedback and if the issue persists, don't hesitate to let me know.

This made it MUCH MUCH worse.
For example, today I logged in 24 oz of water, which after the update was changed to 710 fl oz.
Yesterday's water, 96 oz, is now 2,839 fl oz. And any day with 72 oz water (which is my norm) has been changed to 2,129 oz.
Now, in all fairness, it appears that the update HAS corrected all my previous water logs dating back from March 15, 2025 and older.
I'm going to revise each entry and see how the upgrade handles water in the future. I do appreciate that Google/Fitbit is trying to resolve this.
A caution or warning would have been appreciated.

Agreed with cahlin, this may have fixed the pre-March 15 numbers, but it completely messed up anything since then. Cahlin’s report of the amount and method of the new mess seem to agree with what I’m seeing as well.

I just did the latest Fitbit update from the Apple app store today. I use an iPhone along with the MyNetDiary app to log meals and water. My water intake from MyNetDiary is now again uploading the correct fluid ounces over to the Fitbit app (Versa 4 watch here). I did go back and compare historical data in the Fitbit app against MyNetDiary app (both pre and post March issues) and historical data is correct. Fitbit app is showing the ‘average daily intake’ per month. If you tap on the water section on the ‘Today’ screen, it reflects that. I changed mine to daily and did another comparison against my other app and everything is matching up and back to what it was. Examples attached. Hope this is helpful and I hope they don’t mess this up again.

Same issue as the others. All data prior to 04/02/2025 seems to have been fixed, which is great. Everything after that date though shows thousands of fl oz per day.

Okay, it's a day later, and here's what I did to "resolve" the issue.
Since previous water logs have been corrected (or at least as far as I can tell, I did not go back and review years worth of data), I bit the bullet, and deleted all the erroneous logs one-by-one for two months, then entered the correct amount. I still wish you could see the amount when you click, for example, "Large bottle 24 fl oz" and save it, and not have to wait until you're outside that window to ensure the amount was entered correctly - you know, like it was before Google decided to "fix" it - BUT it appears everything is working as it should. I will continue to monitor whether water entered on one day makes it in its entirety to the next day. So, for example, 72 oz appears as 48 oz on the following day, but...so far, so good.
Pro Tip To Google: it would behoove you to ask community members to beta test future "upgrades."

It seems everything is mostly back to what it should be. I fixed the one day in the last month and some where I entered my info via the phone.
One thing odd I noticed though is every singular custom oz was changed into 32oz. Even if it had only been 16 oz before. I know this cause I had had a day in the past two weeks where I drank only a little water because I filled up with milk and juice instead, and there’s no such day now. They’re all 32 or more. So.. still can’t trust the data to be precisely accurate, but at least it’s close enough to be a historical average.

Version 4.43 broke the currrent usage, it is showing ounces but the scaling is assuming ml. Yesterday I had 64 oz and after the update it shows 1900 oz which 1900 ml is 64 oz. Changing between year, month and week also is inconsistent. Even though my profile is oz in some places it is interpreting as ml. Old usage from March appears to be working now..
