Proxy and Fitbit Connect on Mac OS (FC cannot see internet through proxy)

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This cannot be a Charge HR problem specifically - no part of the system knows what type of device I have - I can't even get to setting it up.

Problem:

I have network proxies configured on my Mac laptop and after launching FC it immediately informs me "No internet connection found".

I am successfully connected to the internet - all my other software  (browsers, for example) is happy to go through the proxy - not FC. Same result with and without dongle. (FC connects if proxy is disabled, but that's not what I want to do.)

From the forums I understand that for the Windows OS, Fitbit Connect has an Options tab, and one can set FC to use the system-defined network proxies. No such option seems to exist for the MAC.

Is there a way to get around this? (Command-line options/switches/arguments come to mind, since this seems to be configurable on the Windows version of the software.)

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello @mikey_1, welcome to the Forums! Cat Very Happy

I know that it may be frustrating that you have to disable the Proxi only to use the Fitbit Connect software, however this is the way the Fitbit was designed and the only way this will work is by doing that. Since you already mentioned that you don't want to do this process, my suggestion is to use the Fitbit App from the compatible mobile devices to do the setup/syncing processes.

See you around! Cat Happy

If you can launch FC when you have proxy servers disabled, but when you turn them on, you can't launch FC, most likely it's about proxy servers. There are several reasons why this happens. One of them is that you use a blocked proxy server (to use a whitelisted server, you should use paid proxies in your work -- if you do this, such a problem won't appear anymore). Another possible reason is that you've incorrectly configured proxy servers. The third reason is that you use proxies incompatible with Mac OS, so I suggest you buy the best proxy that works without problems on Mac OS.
