I have a iPhone 6 and downloaded Fitbit app and synced the data.
I am on latest iOS, latest fitbit version . Everything set.
Questions:
It synced well with my iPhone health app data.
1. Does fitbit only sync recent 7 days data by default ?
2. Even if I had 1 month data on iPhone health app, wouldn't fitbit not sync all those data ?
3. I earned a Hiking boot badge, after my data synced- So i went on to share my badge with fitbit community. I was able to do it successfully by signing up with my interested communities.
4. After some time , the community is not even present in my app. Like, its lost. I don't know where it went.
5. But I keep getting notifications on my post from community members on my iPhone as "notifications". When I click on notification, it takes to my fitbit app but not to the post.
Something is gone wrong with the "community", i lost access.
In advance settings , i have automatic timezone set, which picked my India Time zone correctly- just wanted to keep this informed.
Please help. I need to get back to the community, if not I am just a dead man 🙂
Thank you
Nandish

Hello @SunsetRunner, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you as well @Colinm39, thanks for all your help.
@SunsetRunner, as @Colinm39 mentioned, if you're using a Fitbit tracker, the Fitbit can store up to 7 days of detailed information and up to 30 of general data. If you don't have a tracker paired to your account and you're currently using MobileTrack, take in consideration that low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app, as the Fitbit app does not connect nor sync to the Apple Health app in your phone.
With that said, assuming your phone is frequently connected to the internet, your phone always stores data for the last seven days (including today). If you do not have an internet connection for weeks or even months, your phone will store your data until you connect to the internet and sync your data, when you open the Fitbit app, your phone's data automatically syncs with the app.
Now, about the Fitbit Community, also as @Colinm39 mentioned, if you're in a supported country, the app will show the Community tab at the bottom, in the menu. Currently the Community tab is not available in India, which explains why you're not able to see it and why when you tap on a comment made on your post, the notification only opens the Fitbit app. If you were able to see the Community feed earlier and traveled to a country where it was available, that explains why you're not able to see it right now. We hope to expand the Community feed into other regions in the future, but currently don't have a timeline for expansion.
I hope this resolves your inquiries, thanks for your patience and understanding. If there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

@SunsetRunnerWelcome, I'm an Android user but can help with some issues..
#1 and #2.. All Fitbits hold 7 days of minute to minute data and a further 23 days of daily data. At the 31st day the oldest day drops off. So you have plenty of time to sync.
Community. On your Dashboard of the phone there should be a Community Icon at the bottom, when I tap that it has the option at the top to Feed, Friends and Groups...

@MarcoGFitbitThanks for the great post here.. Over the years there has been many posts about the amount of data Fitbit stores. I have always understood it to be 30 days overall, with 7 days of that being the most current minute to minute data and the oldest day dropping off.....
This extract from the Fitbit Help could make the definition the same as your post 7 days plus 30 days... Could you clarify please.. because the definition just states 30 days..totals........
Extract
We recommend that you sync your tracker or watch daily. Most Fitbit devices record detailed minute-by-minute data for seven days. (Fitbit Alta records minute-by-minute data for five days). Fitbit devices can store daily totals for up to 30 days.

Thank you for responding and also welcoming to fitbit.
Fitbit community is amazing. There is no words to appreciate Fitbit. U r rocking guys !
Coming to the community question, yes, I figured out that it is not in India currently. But I figured out how to get into the supported community 🙂
i am currently enjoying everybit of fitbit coummnity. Everyone welcomed me and added me to challenges. So it’s going great right now. And I have got lot friends too.
I am all set.
Thanks for for clarifying the data collection part, I assumed it picked from Apple health app. But it’s not the case, instead it takes directly from the sensor.
Once again thank you ,I will be very active member of fitbit. I will come up feature request as I get used to fitbit. I will also post questions , when I am looking for more clarity .
currently I am doing good !
Thank you
Nandy
