I am suddenly having random manual weight entries appearing. my last entry I made was Monday, but last night I realized that my dashboard was showing my weight goal had been met (I wish) and there were 4 entries that showed me dropping 30 lbs in 4 days. I deleted those and tonight there were 3 new ones, again with ridiculous weight loss. Where are these coming from and how can I stop them? Using iPod touch and Alta hr.

Hi there @LisaCat, I hope you're having a great day, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community.
This seems like a very odd situation, however in this situation I would like to suggest you to restart your password in case someone has access to it and have entered these logs. After that, please monitor the app for the next few days to check that everything is in order and if you're still seeing strange weight logs, please feel free to reply.
I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

I spent quite a bit of time online with tech support on Monday. They assured me that no one else has access to my account. I keep deleting the weight entries and they keep coming back. Tech support was unable to determine what was causing the problem and is still looking into it. Why do you think someone else is entering random weights in my account? Why on earth would someone do that? Nothing else in my account is incorrect and my weight entries prior to switching from my Charge HR to my new Alta HR are all correct.

So, I reset my password, as you instructed, and now my dashboard is gone. It's just a blank dark green screen. Thanks a lot! 😞

Hello @LisaCat, thanks for taking the time to reply.
By any chance, do you have any 3rd party app linked to your Fitbit account, such as MyFitnessPal? If so, have you logged in weight on any of these apps? That might explain the extra weight logs.
Now, in regards of the Fitbit app screen, it's strange that the Fitbit app is now only displaying you a dark green screen. Did this screen appear after you tried to log in with the new password? If so, please force-close the app by double-tapping the home button and swiping up the app. Then open the app again and try to log in. If you're still getting this screen or if you receive an error message, please take a screenshot and reply to me with it so I can check this further. Thanks for your patience and understanding, please keep me updated.

I have Map My Fitness and Spark People connected, but Fitbit was the only app I was tracking my weight in, but the weights showing up are all WAY off, some as much as 40 lbs off. I've lost 40 lbs 3 times in the last 10 days, according to the phantom entries. The dashboard that went dark is on my PC, the one I log into on the internet. That's back today. However, I have 5 new weight entries back, after deleting them all again yesterday. I have:
My actual weight is around 171. These weights aren't even feasible. It has me gaining 12 lbs the 20th and then losing it in a week. It's completely insane.

My Fitbit account is logging manual weight reading randomly. I do have my fitness pal but do not enter weight in there since I have an aria scale it sends my reading directly to Fitbit. Is there a fix for this?

I am experiencing the same problem, manual weight entries keep showing up.
Have you ever found out what caused this? Have you been able to fix it?

Likewise, I have random Inaccurate “manual” weight entries appearing in Fitbit and MyFitnessPal but not in my Withings/Nokia scale Health Mate app, which is how I enter weight automatically.

As I posted on another thread...
FIXED IT!
Finally!
I was having the same problem as well... bogus manual weight entries that auto added themselves to my Fitbit system (app & dashboard) and in turn auto entered in MyFitnessPal, Garmin Connect and/or anything else is "connected" to the Fitbit system.
So, in short, I found a way to fix the problem! Of course, the Fitbit coders should have fixed this problem at the root to begin with, but that, as we all know, is taking ... "some time".
So, here is what I did, and it fixed the problem. Follow the steps in this order:
- Quit all apps that share the weight values (Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, Apple Health and so on)
- Open the Fitbit app, tap on the weight tab (lbs lost)
- Tap on the + in the top right corner to create a MANUAL entry.
- Create a manual entry by entering the same values you had in your last REAL weight in: enter a value for lbs and also a value for % Fat, if your normal auto entires have that.
- Now you should have at the top the latest and correct weight that you MANUALLY just entered; below that you should then have one or more bogus entries; and below those, eventually the actual weight that was entered in your last legit weight AUTO entry.
- Now, delete one by one all the bogus entries, until you "join" the correct weight measurements with nothing in between. In other words, after deleting the bogus entries, you will have your correct weight MANUAL entry on top, and right below that you will have the last AUTO entered correct weight. Of course, the weight you manually entered at the top MUST match the last correct weight in.
- It's done! You can launch all your other apps, give it a few seconds and they will update to the last correct weight.
- Most importantly, the random bogus manual weight entries will NOT come back!
This worked for me and a couple of other individuals, so I decided to post this because I was desperate for help as well. NO MORE RANDOM MANUAL WEIGHTS!
I bet it works for everybody, if not drop a line, I'm curious.
