Recent update causing battery issues

Since installing the recent update my battery doesn’t last as long. It used to need charging just once a week but now is only lasting 5 days. Also when charging it doesn’t show the charge level or the smiley face to show charge is complete . I have to swipe upon the screen  to see what percentage the device is on. I hope this isn’t going to be like an apple iPhone situation where this is purposely done within the updates to slow them down so as people will replace them with the latest watch!

Hi @Gingerbug, it's nice to see a new member around.

Thanks for letting me know about your Fitbit device not holding charge. I see your point of view and rest assured that I'm here to help you. Let me explain that the battery life on our devices will depend on how frequently you use its features. To investigate this situation, please let me know your Fitbit device mode. In the meantime, I'd suggest to try the following steps:

1. Restart your Fitbit device.

2. Make sure to charge it with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall.

3. Check our help article that has tips to improve the battery life.

Keep me posted. Robot Happy

Thank you for your reply and I’m sorry if I’ve violated community guidelines by cross posting ; I was unaware that I’d done this.

Concerning your question about my fitbit device mode, I don’t know the answer to that as I’m unsure what that means. I’ve not changed anything on the watch since the update and experiencing this problem and use it in the same way on a daily basis.

Hi @Gingerbug, it's great to see you around.

Thanks for getting back and checking the information sent to you. I'm sorry about the confusion with my previous post. I wanted to ask for your Fitbit model so I can look into this situation. Also, since you've not changed anything on your device, could you please confirm if you've tried the suggestions posted above?

I'll look forward to your reply.

Hi, thanks for your reply again. I have a charge 3 and yes have tried your suggestion so waiting to see if it makes a difference.  Although I liked the notifications feature and was one of the reasons I bought a Fitbit in the first place and before the update it was coping fine with the notifications on and lasting 7 days.

Regards
