Set up and hubs frequency settings

I am about to return this device, I have gone through all the start up procedures via downloading the set up software, tried via a Samsung phone and then iPhone. Spending hours in this all I kept getting on the screen was something went wrong.

I then contacted Fitbit help and started a chat and I have been informed by Stivens that it did not work because our router frequency is not compatible. He said our router is 802.11n and we need 802.11b instead.

We then contacted virgin to ask them about updating this and they said we need to by a whole new router which costs more then the scales! When researching our router super hub 2 it says it's features are 802.11b/g/n. So I am getting conflicting information and I am very confused and I am actually un sure whether this is the reason. Can you please advise if there are any router compatibility requirements for this device? If so why is this not pointed out on the set up page?

Hi @Ccal,

I can definitely give you some more information about Aria setup router requirements. In order to setup Aria, your router must be:

-In 802.11b frequency settings or mixed mode.

-WEP / WPA / WPA2 personal security.

-From what I've read on the internet the Hub 2 is a dualband router, so you will want to connect the Aria to the 2.4 ghz channel for setup.

-Select a lower wireless channel for the 2.4 GHz channel than the 5 GHz channel

-Make sure that your WiFi password doesn't contain any non-alphanumeric characters and is under 31 characters.

Once the router conditions above are met, I'd then recommend using the web-based setup instructions mentioned here.

Hope this helps you out!

Just went to do this again and this has not helped. Think these scales are going back. Scales should not be this difficult, really not impressed with the product. Really disappointed as I have wanted one of these for a long time.
