I run at least one 5k race each month and need to run mock 5ks to prepare. I cannot enter 3.1 miles as my target distance (or any target distance) and .5 miles intervals does not work e.g,, must run 3.5 miles minimum. Am I missing something?
seems this would be a minimum requirement.

@LZeeW @Ronnargp I keep my distance set to "miles" and I have the option for a 5K run goal on my Versa 2. You shouldn't have to change all your distance to kilometers at all. See the picture below, I have 5K as an option, as well as 3 miles and 4 miles, respectively.

Hey there @Edwonacott. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
I would like to help you out with this. I'm not really sure where it is that you're trying to add this distance target in the Fitbit app.
In the meantime, what I can suggest, is to use voice cues that will let you know about your elapsed distance. For the frequency, you can choose it to be anywhere from 800m, to 10k. Meaning that you can either choose for the Fitbit app to let you know once you've reached 1k 5 times or you can set it to let you know when you've reached the 5k.
If you'd like to use this feature, go into the Fitbit app, then tap on the stop watch icon at the top right corner, then before hitting start, tap on Run at the top, then in Cues, choose the frequency, the type of cue you want to get and the volume and that should work well for your training.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help with this.
PS. I'm moving your post to the iOS app board for categorization purposes.

Thanks for getting back @Edwonacott!
I'm very sorry about this. I forgot to mention where to locate this stop watch. Once you're in the Fitbit app, tap on the Exercise tile. Once you're at the exercise tile, locate the stop watch icon at the top right corner and follow the instructions I offered before.
Let me know if you need more help!

Hey there I see that you found success with this but when I went to the same steps it still just gives whole or half mile increments. How did you enter 3.1 miles? I'm running a virtual 5K run tomorrow and I would love for it to stop me once I get to that 5K mark. I'm running a new course and I don't need to be keeping looking at my watch to see when I get there.

I just did all the steps that you said but it still only gives me the option of half or full miles. How do I actually enter 3.1 mi?

Hello @Ronnargp and welcome to the Help forums. I think this will help. Change your distance to metric the app. Tap on you profile picture, then scroll down to Advanced Settings, then change it to metric. You can change it back and forth any time you want for everyday use and training/racing. After you change the setting, make sure it syncs properly to your device. I tried this to prove that it would work. The app changed immediately. But I had to restart my Versa 2 to see the metric distance in the distance goal on the device.

Thank you so much. I looked at that last night and it did not have the 5 km it said 5 mi. I'm not sure why it's there now. Thank you so much for your response I really appreciate it.

@Ronnargp Good luck on your race! @Heather-S Yes, you are correct. @Ronnargp didn't say what tracker she is using. Some trackers don't support a distance goal.

I thought that I had put that I had a versa 2 because when I found this blog it was for the versa 2. Thanks for the encouragement we're about to head out in just a few minutes. I'm glad that I asked the question and figured out how to do it. Thank you again so much for y'all's encouragement and for replying back.

After you hit the 5k distance goal does the timer stop automatically or does the watch vibrate and then you have to manually stop the time?

@ChicagoRunner85 It will vibrate to let you know you reached your goal distance, but it will not stop your run. You have to manually stop your run. There is no "penalty" for running more than the goal distance. 🙂

I only wish the Goal function would stop the clock when the goal is reached. To me, that would be the best implementation of this feature. I already watch the distance and stop it manually. The Goal "finished" seems to lock up the screen for a few extra seconds.
