Sleep log inaccuracy

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Good morning.  Has there been an update recently? Around spring forward, my sleep logs have basically been making it appear as though I’m not sleeping at all. For example, the main screen on the app will say I’ve slept 4h. When I go to sleep logs, it’ll show 6+ and maybe three restless points. If I open the log for details it looks like I tossed all night and 4h are counted. Sometimes it’ll show I was in bed 6 or 7h but only slept 2.

I’m questioning this because I can’t function for days in a row, much less weeks, on that amount of sleep. I’d feel it, and I don’t.  I’d be falling asleep, achy, sick, and lethargic at best.  Did something possibly change in the software in the last couple weeks? I see a new “sleep score” section.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @RemadeGold. Welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for letting me know that your sleep hasn't been tracked correctly. I understand how important it's to get accurate data in the Fitbit app and I'll help you with this matter. There are some factors that may affect the way your Fitbit detects your sleep, for example, if you move too much while sleeping or if you slept in a position that prevented your device from detecting your sleep activity. To further investigate, please let me know the model of your Fitbit and confirm if you wear it snug on your wrist as described here.

In the meantime, I'd recommend to try the following:

  1. Double check if the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version. See this link.
  2. Restart your Fitbit to correct any misbehavior. For instructions, see this help article.
  3. Wear your Fitbit on your other wrist just for one night.
  4. Once you're awake, sync your Fitbit and check your sleep details.

I have been having the same problem and am also having a problem with getting sleep details. I slept over 7 hours and still got simplified sleep details. I feel there is something wrong with the app. I have tried both wrists, it didn’t make a difference. How do I reset the Fitbit versa which is what I have. Thank you.

My sleep statistics are not working and haven’t been for quite awhile. The person who sold me the Fitbit will not respond to messages. I have tried resetting the Fitbit. Didn’t help.

I’m not getting accurate results and it won’t give me a sleep score even
when I sleep for 6 or 7 hours. I have also noticed inaccuracies with the
number of hours slept and sleep patterns

Hi @Hollyg64  guess you purchased it used? You have the Inspire series? Be sure you have the latest firmware for your device and the latest app for your compatible phone or computer. Which phone do you have and is it on the list of compatible devices? click to see

The person you purchased it from might not know anything about your Fitbit. Often a sales person in a big box store or Amazon doesn't know enough about each item they sell to help a person. You can learn more about sleep stages here - click to go there and you can read more on what might prevent you from seeing sleep stages here - click to view

I have checked all those issues. They do not pertain. The app isn’t working
right or there is something wrong with the Fitbit. It worked perfectly fine
when I first got it. I used to get sleep details and sleep score every
morning when I woke up but not anymore

I have tried everything. Perhaps it’s not recognizing my heart beat. I just
haven’t had a sleep score in over a month or longer. I know what time I go
to bed and it does not take me 2 or 3 hours to fall asleep which is what
the Fitbit is indicating almost every night. I take ambien so I fall asleep
pretty quickly.

Not only has my sleep score or sleep stages not posted since April 12 my oxygen variation level has never recorded and now the graph feature for the oxygen levels is completely gone. I think Fitbit needs to fix their app

Hi, thank you for the reply.

I have a Fitbit Alta and have had it since Christmas 2015, with no problems.

I’ve let the battery run out and “restarted” it that way, but the cable cord doesn’t have a button that I’m aware of.

I don’t wear it tightly, no, but I’ve never done so (it does slide up my wrist a little) and the issue is new.

I’ll try changing wrists, and it should be up to date, but I’ll double check.

Thank you.

Yeah I am over it. They were supposed to open a case for me but I have
never heard from anyone. They said 3-5 days. Pretty sure it’s been that
long or longer
