Seems to not be recognizing sleep for a day, then appears. Also woke up and the usual walking around for a couple of hundred steps. Appeared in app and then suddenly went down to just 8 steps

First of all, may I know the model of your Fitbit device? Also, have you had issues with the rest of your information not tracked correctly? That being said, I'd recommend to restart your Fitbit device to refresh its performance. Also, try to force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone to make sure your information will sync correctly.
