Sleep tracking not working while using a pacemaker

  • Sleep tracking hasn’t worked on an Inspire 2 and a Charge5 since getting a defibrillator/pacemaker. My research was poor. I took the Inspire2 off for hospital. Defib was installed and started wearing Inspire on other arm. Everything worked but sleep tracker and hoped it was just broke. I bought a Charge5 hoping for more heart info. Website was confusing about SpO2 but should work with the app. It doesn’t. Now I find posts about Sleep Tracking not working. My disappointment is increasing.

Welcome, @ericOKLA. It's good to see you around.

Thanks for the details provided, and the time taken while searching for more information about this. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and your feedback is appreciated. Before anything else, let me explain both the Inspire 2 and Charge 5 aren't medical devices. For this reason, we recommend visiting a doctor or health care provider so you can receive further recommendations about how to use your Fitbit device with your pacemaker.

About your sleep data, as you may know most of our Fitbit devices will automatically detect your sleep when your body is completely at rest and you haven’t moved for about an hour (3 hours to receive sleep stages). I understand you were receiving this data before and just to confirm the correct conditions are met, let's try the following:

  1. Restart your Fitbit device to refresh its performance.
  2. Make sure your Fitbit device’s battery isn't critically low.
  3. If you're going to use the Inspire 2, change it to wrist mode.
  4. Wear your Fitbit device about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone.
  5. Once you're awake, sync and check your details.

In regards to your other question, please note only your Charge 5 can track this data while your sleep. I'd recommend reviewing this help article to learn more about the SpO2 data and how you can see this data on the Fitbit app.
