Step Streak message

I'm getting a message congratulating me on getting a 59-day step streak.  Couldn't figure out what that was so I called Fitbit.  Spoke to an agent who told me it was a badge check badges and it would define it.

I did check badges on my account and couldn't find anything about a step streak badge or what it means.

I'm somewhat confused because if a step streak indicates that I've met my goal for the day it's orders of magnitude off as my last day not meeting my 10k (+) goal was 10/15/2017. Which is why I get irritated each time I've seen the 50 odd step streak message when I start the app.

Thanks for the response. But...

1. Nowhere on the app or online was I able to figure anything out about this new feature, such as it's only counting since it was implemented 60 day ago or so.

2. If it's not going to show the actual streak, which Fitbit can see easier than I can find it, then give me an option to not see this steak notice at the top of the app when I start it.  To me it's irrelevant and annoying because it should be showing me my actual streak rather than some arbitrarily undefined streak that is meaningless.

I had the same situation. I also find it irritating and annoying that it  tells me on a daily basis  my streak from some arbitrary start point. I started my actual streak on January 1 of this year. The streak is what actually gets me to go out in the rain in the cold and get my steps. It’s a motivating factor for me. This “feature” is annoying.

Thanks for asking this question and getting a response though

Yes, it irritates me every morning and doesn’t appear to have a way to turn it off.

Hi. I have only recently begun to have a streak. (Last 18 days). I found the streak feature very motivating. However yesterday it disappeared (even though I met my step goal!). How do I get it back??

If you've just started, I see how that can be motivational. However, for those who've been doing it longer it's offensive.

I have 1,115-day step steak and Fitbit tells me I have a 66-day streak.

I have found no way to turn it off or on.

I just started a much more modest step streak. I was at 32 days and was enjoying the motivating banner in the iOS app.  But yesterday the app was slow to load and then it took a while to populate all my stats.  And when everything came back up, my step steak had been reset to 6 days.  Today it says I’m on a 7 day streak.  Is your step streak still going past 66 days or did it reset too?  I am disappointed my streak disappeared at 32 days.  So I can only imagine how disappointed you are to have your 4 year streak not counted correctly!

I’m with Jim here. It’s really irritating to see the incorrect step streak every time I log into the App. My streak began on 2/13/17.
I would recommend you either provide user the ability to turn it off or provide them the ability to put in a start date.

I found the streak information to be motivational even though it just started. I was at 129 days then the next morning it said 4 days. It's been counting up from there; I never got my "real" data back. I also wish I could turn it off since it's not accurate and is a daily reminder that my data is not being tracked properly. Thanks for asking the question but it doesn't seem that we're going to get an answer.

I have a 130 day step streak that was in tact last night when I went to bed. Today I woke up to a 4 day step streak. Interestingly this seems to align to when I switched from my Charge HR2 to my NEW VERSA 3.
I can say my VERSA 3 was showing my 130+ Streak everyday for the past 4/5 days till this morning. I know my streak began on my birthday 10/17/2020 and the app shows all the days are in tact. Can you please restore my streak to the correct number?

I don't have the problem anymore.  After almost 4 years with Fitbit as my Ionic was starting to have problems and Fitbit never upgraded the Ionic, I moved on.  For the last week I've been using an iWatch 6 and am adjusting to the way it works including using multiple apps to get the info that was contained in the one Fitbit app.

I have same problem- step streak incorrect- which nullifies the intended motivational aspect of the feature.
