Steps are not syncing with my challenges.

Hi there,

I do a workweek hustle every week with friends but I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that all of my steps are not showing up in the challenges. It can sometimes be out by as much as 4,000 steps. Is there a way to fix this?

Hello @karanson, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to see new faces around. Smiley Happy

I'm sorry to hear that your step total on your challenge isn't updating. Below are possible reasons for this issue:

1. Your steps have fully synced to our database but you're not viewing the mobile app dashboard in Live Data Mode. (Live data mode would show the word "connected" under your tracker tile).
2. You manually logged an activity. Steps from manually logged activities do not count toward challenges; only steps recorded by your tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.
3. You used MobileRun to track GPS data with your app. Only steps recorded by a tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.
4. All challenge participants are not in the same time zone.

I'd also recommend waiting 15 minutes after syncing your Fitbit data to see if your challenge updates.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply. Smiley Wink

Thank you for reporting that your Challenge steps don't match your dashboard steps.

We've received similar reports, and I have escalated the issue to our engineering team. While we don't have a timeline for resolution, we will continue to investigate these discrepancies.

I appreciate your patience, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Hello @Shahriyor and @KoopsDeans, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

@KoopsDeans, you're very welcome, please note that our team is actively working towards resolving this issue. Once I have more information to share with you about this situation I'll make sure to update the thread accordingly.

@Shahriyor, which tracker are you currently using? Are you not able to see the step tile in the Fitbit app? Usually, when a tile is not showing in the Fitbit app is because of two different reasons:

  1. Your tracker has been removed accidentally from the account: To check this, please tap on the Account button and verify that your tracker is listed under your Name. If it's not, please set it up as a new device:
    • Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
    • Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  2. The tile has been removed from the Dashboard and is not invisible: To verify this, please scroll down until you find the Edit button. Tap on it and the invisible tiles will display a plus sign on the top left corner, tap on the plus sign to make them visible again.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink
