We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have a charge 3. I have followed the instructions but still receive no notifications. The reason I got another Fitbit was for the notifications and I liked the old app layout.

I also tried to email support through the app but that is also broken. I’m really disappointed with the direction Fitbit is taking and doubt I will replace this watch with another Fitbit.

Upgraded to 13.1, notifications issue still present unless message previews are turned on. Will Fitbit be releasing an update to correct this?

Since the new update my steps are not counting on the app and I lost my sleep icon and although my Fitbit is connected and Bluetooth is on , it keeps telling me that I have to put blue tooth on

Did the update fix the issue to show notifications for texts when you have your preview is as never ? I prefer to just see it on my Fitbit and not my phone for privacy ressons.

After I updated to iOS 13 my messages were not showing. I tried EVERYTHING, finally after reading this message I set my messages preview to show when unlocked and now it is working 😀. I really like getting my messages on my Fitbit since my phone is always silenced.

I tried Everything you suggested and it still isn’t working. My app is up to date and everything else is turned on. It’s still not working.  Any other suggestions on how to fix this issue. I like My text notifications back please

No😔 it did not fix it

I went to Setting; notifications; messages; marked show previews when locked and my notifications returned. You’re text messages ARE NOT seen when your iPhone is locked.

I have also tried everything to fix my Alta fitbit and nothing helps. I get the calls to come through, but not text messages. Very frustrating, I have had issues everytime a new update happens.

I did all of what these steps said to do and my fitbit still won't receive my texts, I also reset my fitbit several times and nothing is working, I need it for work so I'm a bit frustrated.

Share System Notifications. Is Not a feature in my phone's bluetooth.

I followed the first few instructions of going to bluetooth, tapping the i and all I see is the option to "forget device"

nothing about share system notifications

I also cannot receive text notifications on my Samsung 8+. It had been working fine and now all I get are phone call notifications. Tried everything I can think of.
