We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

On iPhone go to settings - notifications - messages - show previews - when unlocked. You will start getting alerts after that on Fitbit but only see the message on your phone when you unlock it. I have iPhone 11 Max on newest update with a Alta and it’s working fine this way until they fix it

Thank you for your response.  Unfortunately, my phone is an Android and so I will see if I can't get more help from FitBit folks.

Sadly I tried this, and it still does not cause my Flex 2 to give me any
notifications. I'm honestly very disappointed and frustrated that FitBit is
taking so long to repair this...it's been weeks since the iOS13 update was
rolled out and absolutely nothing has been done to resolve this issue. I
wish I'd known about it prior to the update, I could have just waited to
update until it was patched. The notifications feature of the FitBit is one
of the major perks of the device.

Since doing the update I don’t get any text notifications on my Fitbit charge 2. I’ve tried all on the suggested fixes and nothing has worked. Are there any new updates coming out to fix this?! It’s really frustrating!!

This is getting ridiculous!  I am able to get ALL notifications on my watch excpets for my texts.  I have done ALL your troubleshooting types and none of it works.  When do you plan to do your job and fix this?

I am having SIGNIFICANT issues syncing my Charge 3 with my Samsung. Have tried everything on the forums. Spoke with a Live Chat rep and was sent to this link, which appears to be for Apple software, not even android?!  The rep told me that apparently my Samsung A5, the newest version, hasn't been included with fitbit charge 3 phone fits.  Sorry to add to the iOS crowd but posting as requested by the fitbit live chat rep.  Thank you.  Hope all of you Apple people don't have as much trouble syncing as with my Samsung.

My iPad mini 4 cannot find my Inspire HR after the ios13 update and the extra updates after that have not solved the problem. It has been weeks now. I had an online chat with a Fitbit tech when it first happened as it was not working on my iPhone 6s either. Thanks to the Tech guy, it is on my phone now but I prefer to use it on my iPad. When will this be solved. 😞 😞

Now that my Iphone has updated, my fitbit won't hold a charge, I charged it this afternoon to a complete charge and 45 mins later it is telling me it is down to 4%.  I'm not sure what is going on.

I’ve tried all of the solutions offered here and I’m still not getting text or call notifications.

It’s a huge inconvenience, I can’t always have my phone with me but need to see any activity but I’ve now lost that.

Get it together Fitbit!

This is something that you promote as being a function of your smart watches and it’s unavailable to many people who have paid you a lot of money for your products!
