We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I’ve been a Fitbit user for 4 years. However, I’m done waiting for Fitbit to fix this. I will be selling my Versa Lite to someone with an Android phone. An Apple Watch 3 is $199 and I won’t have to worry about compatibility with future iOS releases.

Hello and welcome @GrubbyDuck

Thank you for sharing this. There’s great information here. I think this would be very beneficial to be on the active notifications issue thread so I’m moving this post there. Hopefully this provides help for others experiencing issues.

I just tried this and it helped with getting text notifications again.

Go into the Fitbit App and chose "Remove this Versa."  Then set up the Versa again.  I've tried the Fitbit suggestions so many times and it never helped.  I tried disconnecting and reconnecting my Versa from Bluetooth with no success.  As a last ditch effort I tried this and it worked!

To get to the device(s) -

Open App

Touch your picture in the upper left corner

Touch the device

Scroll to the bottom

Touch Remove this Versa

Good luck!

Removing the Versa and setting it up again worked! I'm getting texts again! Thanks, JackJacksMama! 👍😁

Unfortunately removing and setting up again doesn’t seem to help with the flex2, still not getting notifications 😞

@SunsetRunner

I have re-posted it back to iOS & will too onto Versa forums as 'here' it is buried deeply in this thread.

Peeps do not read through all comments made so may not see it.

I have done all of this and I still am not getting message notifications on my versa. When I look at the notifications tab in the app, message is not even on there - it was on there before and I never removed it. How do I add it? I am not getting notifications since I updated my iphone. Very frustrating.

Fix for you is to: Check you have latest version Android.  It is Pie.

Then factory reset versa > delete FitBit app > set all up again.

Well JackJacksMama, I am well impressed! I deleted mu Ionic from my iPhone 7 and then reinstalled it. That's restored texts and Messenger and WhatsApp and notifications calls when on silent. Thank you so much for sharing. You are a star!

I have tried everything and wasted hours of my time. No change and still can’t get text messages. Really frustrating.

Also please switch off the stupid sleep score which everyone appears to hate.

think might be time to get rid of my Fitbit

Hi Peeps,

By far easiest resolution & it matters not if it iOS or Android?

Factory reset your 'FitBit tracker' as per your user manual: https://www.google.com/search?q=fitbit+user+manual&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBGB846GB846&oq=FitBit+user+manual...

On your phone go to: System settings > update on your phone. Check you have latest version of iOS or Android.

Delete FitBit app.

Turn your phone/tablet/device off.

Do not restart as that does not always clear system cache.

Put your tracker on charge.

Turn device on.

Reinstall FitBit app then > settings > + Set up a new device > follow on screen prompts.

Any issues I have with not just my FitBit but any device? This is what I do. My go to workaround & 9/10 times = complete resolution.
