We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I have recently updated to a new iPhone, my fitbit Charge 2 doesn't even show up to select it in bluetooth.  I have reset the fitbit and restarted the phone, all notification settings appear to be correct.  Any suggestions?

Do you have any other Bluetooth devices in range? If so, turn off their Bluetooth first.

In my opinion until Fitbit releases an update, text messages won’t work with any iPhone.
I know several people with different Fitbit models and different iPhones- all the same problem. Fitbit will have hundreds of new watches retuned to merchants if they don’t get their act together. This has been a problem for too long!

I’m so sorry and I feel for you.
I don’t have any suggestions as whatever Fitbit suggests text messages will NOT work with an iPhone. This is a Fitbit problem and all we can do is hope for an update very soon.

Try turning off your ace and then delete and reload your Fitbit app. Turn all of the Fitbit notifications off and back on in settings and then try. I don’t know a lot about the ace and I hope this helps.

Agreed! I finally got my notifications to work, but they only stay on my Fitbit 1.3 seconds and my texts have to viewed and not just an alert anymore. Happy for the little break but overall thinking I may fall out of love with my Fitbit come Christmas. Sigh

WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE FIXED!?!?!?! I've done everything listed and then some. Contacted FitBit and Apple and still can't get notifications on my Fitbit! I even tried using someone else's newer FitBit and it still did not work!
THIS IS RIDICULOUS! UPGRADE IT OR WE WILL ALL GET APPLE WATCHES which is probably why Apple did this anyway but I need these notifications on my watch because of my job. So when will this be fixed???????

It's not an Apple problem, it's a Fitbit problem. Android users are have
the same types of issues.

I keep trying to do these steps that are suggested and I don’t get text notifications. I also have issues with phone calls continuously ringing on my watch after I have picked up the phone.
Like everyone else I am considering an Apple Watch if these issues are not resolved soon as I use the notifications for work purposes on a regular basis. Fitbit is a high end brand and should be able to keep up.

May need to restart device. Long press device button until fitbit logo appear.

It’s now October 31st. Well over a month since the iPhone update. And I am still not receiving text message notifications. I receive Phone Calls and Apps notifications just fine. I have followed the directions on the thread so many times I think I know it by memory. I am so discouraged with my purchase of this Versa Lite Fitbit.
