We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

Under settings, Bluetooth, and the “i” button next to my devices name, the only option is to forget this device. If you turn off Bluetooth here, and turn it back on, this is where you will get the option to pop up "Share System Notifications"

Did that fix the problem for you?

I just uninstalled the phone app and then reinstalled it, and that fixed the notifications problem for me

Yes, I've turned blue tooth off and back on. Even removed alta from my fitbit app and reconnectedvit.

Sorry to hear that, my solution seems to work with some people and not others. Have you tried on your phone in Bluetooth where your fit bit is shown, click the info button next to it and it says share system notifications?

Did you have to restart anything? I’ve done this and still doesn’t work.  Any hints would be appreciated

What fit bit do you have.  I have the charge 3 and this isn’t in my options.

iOS 13 iMessage/text messages don’t work with both my Versa and Charge 2. Both are at latest firmwares.

Everything else aka WhatsApp, telegram, twitter and what not works.

PLEASE FIX THIS FITBIT 💔

Yikes @lalex

Sadly I’m seeing this same issue plastered all over the community threads. I’ve read through some trying to find a solution and I haven’t as of yet. (It all seems to come after the iOS 13 update)

If did find this:

If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13:
1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
2. Tap the "i" icon next to the name of your Fitbit device.
3. Turn on Share System Notifications.

😃 Please let me know if this is an accepted solution

TEMPORARY FIX:

Go to Message notifications> Show preview > Always on/When Unlocked.

It will ring to your watches. Till Fitbit fixes this, this will suffice

Worked for me, no restart, was to do with notifications settings, don’t understand why not working for some people but the problem definitely lies in notifications settings either on phone or Fitbit, I’ve got a blaze and my mate has a charge 3 and my solution fixed both

I have Charge 3, my Fitbit app on my XS shows no steps for the day, won’t sync. That Share System is already on in the BT settings - touch the “I” next to the Charge 3
