Not true Rich. My notifications to Fitbit worked without text preview turned on before iOS 13 and you can’t tell me there’s not a way to make that continue.
Best AnswerI stopped receiving notifications for text messages from my iPhone after the update. I tried checking for software updates and did a restart. I then tried to reset it to Factory Setting as a last resort. Now my Fitbit Versa will not turn back on. I let it charge overnight. I've tried holding all 3 buttons to turn it back on. I've held just the left button and Nothing works. Now I have $200 dead watch, that I've owned for less than a year. VERY frustrating and disappointed. I've owned the Flex, Alta, Charge and Versa. Now I'm not sure if it's worth investing in another one.
I’ve tried everything possible that I have been told to do. I STILLL DONT get any text notifications. I get calls and app notifications but no texts and I’m super super annoyed by it. I’ve restarted my Fitbit and phone, updated my phone, checked Bluetooth, checked my notification settings and NOTHING. I’m almost ready to throw my Fitbit away if it isn’t going to do what i paid for it to do. I was thinking about getting the charge 3 but now idk if I even want a Fitbit anymore. I have a versa btw
I have no patience with this. I have tried all day with support from Fitbit and Apple and cannot even get the two to pair. It worked fine with my 6. I deleted my device and now can't even get them to pair again. So frustrating. Just bought one for my sister and I wish I didn't.
Interesting @AmandaMae14 for years users have been saying that they need to turn on preview for notification contents to show up on the wrist. Without they only knew who sent the notification
Best AnswerI’m am getting tired of see the note on me Fitbit app that you are aware of the issue. The fix you are suggesting does not work. I see I’m not the only one that is having issues with not having notifications on our Fitbit devices. It appears the iOS 13 caused the issues with your devices. Could you please get this repaired? Many people like myself have or will be seeking another manufacturer such as Apple. I have been using Fitbit for 5 years and I have liked it. But it needs to work as intended or I’m not going to support your products anymore.
I had a charge 2 until today which didn’t work with the new iOS update! Thought the 3 might be different but I was clearly wrong!
Fitbit need to resolve this issue quickly! It’s one of the biggest perks of having a fitbit over other watches at a fraction of the cost!
My messages have always been hidden and I’ve been able to read my messages in my phone no problem at all until the update! I will not accept fitbit saying that we need to sacrifice our privacy for this!
i have an iPhone 8 with iOS 13.2.3 which is completely up to date!
I guess we don’t! We jump ship and switch to Apple. How gross is that?! My Fitbit was my life, not even kidding—I wouldn’t do crap if it wasn’t for my versa!
Very disappointed in the company
The suggestion to have your “previews” on for your texts worked for me. I dont Like having my previews on but as soon as I turned them on to show up at least in the lock screen they started showing up on my Fitbit Verse Lite. I’d try this. Seemed to work for me.
Best AnswerHas this issue been resolved? I am still not receiving notifications. I have followed all the steps and still have not received an email updating me that the issue has been cleared (was promised this via phone and on chat). Thank you!

NOPE! NADA! I’ve DMed their support on Twitter countless times and haven’t gotten a clear answer/reason or what we should expect... nothing. When you pay over 200.00 for a device that’s supposed to notify you of texts then it should and when it doesn’t, you make the people happy—however that’s to be done. In this case a simple, factual update on what the heck the deal is and why it hasn’t been fixed instead of some blanketed response while STILL PROMOTING the product and expecting people to spend money on the product not knowing it won’t notify you of texts unless you know someone who has a Fitbit and if that’s the case you wouldn’t be buying it. Like... FIX THE ISSUE or quit selling it. How insane?!
