Stopped seeing notifications after updating to iOS 13

We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

1. Update the Fitbit app.
2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
2. Tap the information icon   next to the name of your Fitbit device.
3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
   1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
   2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
   3. Tap the information icon   next to the name of your Fitbit device
   4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:

App	Settings
Calendar	Allow Notifications—On Tap each notification type and verify the settings: Alerts > Notification Center—On Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages	Allow Notifications—On Alerts > Notification Center—On Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone	Allow Notifications—On Alerts > Notification Center—On Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps	Allow Notifications—On Alerts > Notification Center—On Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

Same problem here - I have updated the app. There is also no battery indicator on my Charge2 anymore.

I don’t want to have just allow preview to be able to get notifications. 

the whole point is that I cannot have them on my phone. 

the work around works but if this is a permanent fixture my fitbit will be getting sold and replaced with a watch that allows me to have previews. 

Its becoming highly annoying and frustrating.

Everyone Don’t waste you time on these fix suggestions!!! I just spent an hour trying everything in this long list only to realize it still doesn’t receive notifications!!!

I’ve had the update iOS 13 for weeks! I’ve done EVERYTHING Fitbit has told me to do, deleted the app, removed the device etc etc. And nothing works! NOTHING!!!

I also lost my Charge 3 in the bluetooth after the IOS update to 13 back on the 20th, but didn't realize it until today.  So i just finished updating the iPhone to 13.2 and still could not synch the fitbit app to the Charge 3.  Couldn't even see the Charge three in my list of blue tooth devices.  BUT then I scrolled down the iPhone settings to the area where you see the Fitbit app and opened it.  To my surprise there is a new Bluetooth button there that was off.  I turned it on, opened the fitbit app, and it connected and synched the last 10 days worth of data.  It looks to me as though the iphone will now only connect to the Charge 3 via bluetooth when you request a synch in the app.  I hope this helps.

Hold on.  Apple just dropped another update. iOS13 came out about 1 week ago.  we are now at 13.1.2.

So.. I will blame some of our frustration on Fitbit.  However, It is hard for software engineers to hit a moving target. Hopefully iOS13.1.2 is more stable and hits the areas Fitbit needs to address to get all back to working correctly.

I did all that was suggested. My app updated this morning. I can get notifications from my calendar, my FB messenger.. but, I don’t  get them for phone calls or text messages. #1stworldproblem 🤷🏻‍:female_sign: Not to stressed about it. Just please let me know when a fix has been found.

Hoping this will work.  Thank you for mentioning the new BT button in Fitbit app settings on iPhone.  Mine was turned off.  I don't have watch right now, but am anxious to try it later today.

Update the ios just now, updated the app prior to doing that, removed the app, reinstalled the app, removed from bluetooth and still not receiving call or text notifications

I just went back into my fitbit app, and when I scrolled down to synch, it asked if I wanted to pair my charge 3 with my iphone.  I said ok.  then it asked me if I wanted notifications and again I said yes.  I now see the Charge 3 in my list of Bluetooth devices.  So I had my wife call and text me, and I'm getting the notifications on my Charge 3 now.   Also, it was ios 13.1.2 that I updated to earlier today, not 13.2.  Everything is working for me on my Charge 3.  Again, I turned on the bluetooth button in settings/fitbit/bluetooth=on.  The first couple times it paired only when I requested a synch, but now that I said ok above, it is showing up in the list of paired devices again.

Your reaction in solving this issue is disappointing. iOS update is over a week old and you haven’t come up with a solution. Poor

Is there a way to have it work without having a preview of messages or a future update with that option???? I was having problems with notifications to my watch and I saw this post. I changed my settings and it works now but I personally don’t like having the preview option for texts on my phone

You must go into your settings on iPhone and change your preview to when unlocked for everything... and then have messages set to while unlocked or always ... as well... super annoying and I’m so unhappy about it ...
