We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

I tried deleting the app. Factory reset on my Versa twice and still nothing.

Same issue. I’m getting all other notifications but not texts.

Have tried all the troubleshooting and still not working. Hopefully this gets resolved soon

On iPhone go to settings - notifications - messages - show previews - when unlocked. You will start getting alerts after that on Fitbit. I have iPhone 11 Max and it’s working fine this way until they fix it

Yes this is true but I value my privacy so that won’t work for me

My fitbit has been working then not working, as far as syncing to my phone is concerned.  This is really frustrating.  I am more concerned about it not registering my steps than the notifications.

If u you put your preview on WHEN UNLOCKED you do not see the message on the phone until it’s UNLOCKED but will get the Fitbit notifications

List of steps to follow didn’t do anything.  Very annoying to now not see my messages come through.

after update my versa is not receiving notifications.  I have  done the solution 2 times plus my daughter did it too and still not working. If this is an issue this needs to be resolved right away. This was part of why I bought a versa.

I agree I don’t want people seeing my texts. That’s why I switched to an Apple Watch even though I didn’t wanna add to my phone bill

I get all other notifications EXCEPT text notifications on my Charge 3. I’ve followed all the steps mentioned in the post, deleted and reinstalled the app, turned my phone off and on multiple times...nothing has helped.  What gives?

I literally have done EVERYTHING that this forum has suggested and I still have no call or text notifications. I get “active call” notifications which is new for me along with my calendar notifications but that is it. I care about my privacy as others have said, but at this point I just want to know if my Inspire HR is ever going to work correctly or I need to make a switch. Currently, I have all notifications on, on unlocked with the preview and am still receiving nothing.

Turn off text notifications on the lock screen only. Leave banners and notification center check marked. See if that helps for now
