We are aware of an issue preventing some users from receiving notifications on their iPhone after updating to iOS 13. If you're having trouble receiving notifications and you updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 13, follow the steps in this article, which are also documented below:

1. GET UP-TO-DATE

  1. Update the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure you installed the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software update to see if an update is available.

2. CHECK YOUR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device.
  3. Turn Share System Notifications off and then back on. If you don't see the Share System Notifications option:
    1. Restart your Fitbit device. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
    2. Tap Allow when you receive a message on your iPhone or iPad asking if you want your Fitbit device to show notifications.
    3. Tap the information icon

next to the name of your Fitbit device
    4. Turn on Share System Notifications.

3. CHECK YOUR NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

  1. Tap Settings in the top-left to return to the Settings page > Notifications.
  2.  Make sure Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked.
  3. Verify the settings for each app that sends notifications:
App Settings
Calendar
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Tap each notification type and verify the settings:
    • Alerts > Notification Center—On
    • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Messages
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
Phone
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked
All other apps
  • Allow Notifications—On
  • Alerts > Notification Center—On
  • Show Previews—Always or When Unlocked

4. RESTART YOUR PHONE

For instructions, see the Apple help article.

If these steps do not resolve the issue for you, please keep your app up to date, and watch this thread for new information. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while our team works to address this.

OMG...i've done everything in this thread twice and can't get text messages !   Beyond frustrated because that is the one feature I LOVE.  Is it worth giving a call to fitbit?

I got an email that they are working on it... the allow all messages in the preview and restarting my phone finally did the trick. Calling may have them walk you through all the steps but I doubt anything new.

Good morning. Even though I don’t like message previews to be shown. I
found that this worked.

Tried this as well...turned phone off...still nothing.     Restarted everything twice..deleted app and reinstalled ...checked all settings and even checked syncing and the fitbit app.  Everything but texting is working 😞  HOpefullly it will be fixed soon

Make sure your message and Fitbit notifications are set to “always” under
preview. This is how I got mine to work. Don’t like it but for now will
work

Here's my issue -

First step in the fix process says to click on the blue i next to the device on my bluetooth list.  Mine isn't showing on my Bluetooth list 😠

When I got to the app, I'm able to sync, but I'm not getting any notifications.

I initially had to reset fit it to factory reset delete Appl from phone and
reinstall like I did when I first got. So frustrating. This is how I
finally got to work

Thank you! I have iPhone 11 and it still doesn’t show notifications but I get phone calls through the fit bit. 😕. Can’t wait for the fix.

I have an iphone 10xr so not sure if it's all the same...but mine now works.  I did everything they said and turned everything on and off, including checking the general notifications when you push the large side button on the fitbit versa.  It started working again.  We keep blaming fitbit, but fitbit is not an apple product so apple has no interest to help with the fix.

Good luck with that I’ve spoken with them and they don’t know when it’s going to be fixed. I’m ready to get an Apple Watch I need to know when someone is texting me

I bought this over the Apple watch and have had message connection issues since day 1. It just randomly stops sending them so I have to go through a whole forgetting re-syncing process and now it doesn't work at all.  Definitely not worth my time and am ready to switch.

At least you're will sync - mine won't connect to BlueTooth or WiFi and it hasn't been able to sync since yesterday morning - before that i could get it to sync once a day but it would take HOURS for playing around and trying different things - I was told this morning by customer support that there was nothing else they could do for me I would just have to wait for the issues to be fixed.

Updated to ios 13. whatever it is now and everything stopped. Thankfully i followed the instructions of how to fix and mine is now working. I have an alta hr. I am assuming that some of the earlier fitbits are having the issues. Sad this as i would have been very upset.

Has this issue been resolved other than what was posted on the 22nd?  I still cannot receive texts and I have done what was posted.

It’s ridiculous I’m switching to an Apple Watch. But I’m just getting the 300 dollar one because I only want it to be able to receive texts this is ridiculous
