Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

The landing page customization is still (a bit) possible to my understanding. Look what I did with mine

I updated the new app last night and I am disappointed about the lack of color on the dashboard. It is very plain to look at and makes me less interested. I have been a Fitbit Premium member for years and I feel this dashboard needs color again. Please take the colors in the Google name and make it happen. Thanks for your consideration.

Is it possible to edit in the website dashboard?

You might want to rethink the color scheme. The white letters on gray background, not so good.   Can you see the hidden back button?

I do agree! What a HORRIBLE update...it is not even an update. Feels like downsizing...

First: They said they created a whole new app. So why didn`t they add dark mode? A simple feature Fitbit users are reqeusting for YEARS. But Fitbit and now Google just don`t care about their users. Instead they`re creating a new app that makes the whole Fitbit experience even worse. One of the main reasons users choose Fitbit is the app! Does nobody keep this in mind at Fitbit?

On iOS there is so much space wasted now. I do have the iPhone 14 Plus with a 6,7 screen. And when I open the app all I see is 4 metrics and my heartrate. For the rest I have to scroll. In the old version I had 4 metrics, my heartrate, my sleep & my weight. Why is there so much space wasted? Why are there seperate headlines like "health" and "acitivity"? Nobodys needs this, just wasting space again. The app looks terrible with all the white space showing nothing..

Also the font size is way too large. For example when I click on my weight on the dashboard, I see all my weights from every day in a much smaller font size then on the dashboard. Did nobody think about that? It makes me feel like I am a beta tester.

Then there is a big green plus-button in the bottom right corner...WHY??? Why an extra plus-button that overlays important data on my dashboard?

Also Fitbit changed the colour. From this "cyan-like" to a much darker green. Looks like military to me now. The old one had a really fresh spirit.

It is really hard for me to believe that this app has been tested with real users!

Several mentions of the missing battery, but it’s worse than that. This is what the app shows

Since the app update on iOS today I can’t place my steps as the top featured item, it was replaced by heart bpm. Doesn’t seem to be a way to move steps to top center. Help?

Best Answer

Hey Rkevin132. You Can do it by choosing the "custom preset" and select "steps" for the first metric. Make sure it is not selected by any other metric. Because ohterwise you can not choose it for the top center. Just tested it on my iOS device and it works fine 🙂

Ok Thanks

Steps also shows at top center in the "Get More Active" focus if for some reason you don't want to use a custom preset.

Is it possible to uninstall the latest fitbit update on iPhone?  I just really don't like it all.  The layout looks childish and the food tracker doesn't work near as well.

I can't even use the new app (on IOS). I keep getting told my bluetooth isn't on and it sends me to settings. Over and over and over again. I tried to disconnect my fitbit device and reinstall it, but same error message. (My bluetooth has always been on, btw). I've tried turning bluetooth off and back on, quitting the app and reloading it, everything. I now just have a disconnected fitbit and no data.

With the new app update, I can’t see my step streak anymore. Is this still available? It’s dumb but I take pride in my streak and having it disappear is really deflating.

On the new release of the Fitbit app, the year-to-date data is no long shown when displaying goal stats. Now not only can we not export historical data, we can no longer display all current stats. It just keeps getting worse.

Best Answer

where do you find the  “custom preset” function?”

Best Answer

The new release also doesn’t display any year-to-date stats. And the data export function that allowed us to export daily data within a date range is still missing. Can’t display year-to-date data, can’t export data. It’s unacceptable.

Not to be the bringer of bad news. I think the older data was never
intended to cross over from one app to the new. I received news early on to
download the historical data.

I hope you’re wrong. I have been downloading (exporting) monthly data for over 5 years. Fitbit support told me they are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it. Until then, I was capturing the year-to-date manually from the display. Now that’s gone. Why are they hiding our data from us?

Wow! This update looks terrible. Honestly it is a mess. After Fitbit took Pandora away from my Versa 3 (but assuring me they did to make my experience even better with new features … that nearly half a year later have never materialized.) I was left with a feeling that my time with Fitbit was coming to an end. They ruined such a good little watch (the Versa 3) and now they’ve ruined and totally made an ugly mess of the Fitbit app. I am sure the people working at Fitbit and watching such a previous great product get worse and worse are also sad and frustrated. I get the feeling Google is going to put all their eggs into the Google Pixel Watch bucket and “Fitbit” will slowly fade away. Such a shame. I really really loved Fitbit years ago and at this point I see no reason to put any more of my time and money into the company and products. Just one slap in the face after another from them. Best of luck Fitbit (I mean Google). I’ll be enjoying my Garmin Venu 2 and Apple Watch which only get better and better with more and more features year after year,  not more stripped down like Fitbit. Peace.
