Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

This new app is pitiful. No color no style nothing that I’d better. It’s awful. Looks like a 1st grade student did this. I will be switching to Apple if this doesn’t change! No way am I going to keep using this pathetic app

Is there anyway to get back the previous format (look)?...this new format all blends together, the previous format was easy to look thru.

With the new app update, my step streak counter / banner has disappeared. How can I get this back?

I need some help navigating the new app. On the older app, top left corner was the settings button. Now I see "Connected to Fitbit" with my tracker and phone. If I select the tracker, I see what I used to- Gallery and How to Use,  wrist setting, notifications, etc. BUT on the old app there were items below the "Remove this device" that I can no longer see. Can someone tell me where to find those items? I can't remember exactly what was there, but I know they were app functions, not tracker functions.

All I have is battery "medium", no %. And that's not even true because it looks like 24% on my tracker, which I can barely see.

Click on the little pencil to the right of "Today"./that will take you to "Choose Focus". If you keep swiping left, you'll pass all of the preset focus options. The last one you see is Choose Focus. There you can set your own metrics.

@Lizzz38 I still have the old version of the Fitbit app. These are the items at the bottom of that screen.

I've never used the new app, so I can't tell you how to find those features there. Maybe someone else can help with that.

Hi @DMor16.

Unfortunately it isn't possible to roll back to the old UI.

I would like to know as well.  Been looking for it since the app updated and hasn’t been showing me the step streak.  Very disappointed.

Same here, I was at day 508 and now it’s gone. I don’t care for the new interface, but I’ll get used to it.

Thank you. That’s the info I was looking for. I tried asking my daughter because she hasn’t gotten the new app either. She said there’s nothing below “Sync Now”. I knew there was. So many things moved around !!

Rebooted phone, plugged in Charge and did the 3 button reset 3 times. Seems to be working correctly.

Did you people even test the new app?   So many problems I do not know where to start.  Cannot change step or mile goals. Hard to see weekly steps. Battery strength gone.  Hard to see if it is synching. Need to be able to reorder everything, not just categories.  2nd level screens don’t always update. You have to go back to main screen and then make the choice again.  I WANT THE OLD VERSION BACK. IT WAS 100% BETTER THAN THIS NEW ONE.   I hate that when google buys a company like Fitbit and Nest that all they do is make things worse.

Same issue. And today my Fitbit app said my battery was medium and then it popped up as dying. That’s a bit confusing. I also got no email about it nearly dying

This is my question as well. I was on an 821 day streak and would love to see that continue showing every day.

Ever since I deleted my app and reinstalled it, I can no longer rearrange my tiles on the dashboard.  Why?

Same here. I’ve been so excited to be on the longest step streak I’ve ever been on and now I can’t find it. Please give us visibility to streaks again.

Hi, @kathylebrun , it sounds like maybe you have the new app, that looks a bit different from the old one, with different icons.

The new app groups your tiles, with a new option of setting a “primary focus”, which as before is the biggest tile at the top.

The rest of the tiles are grouped: sleep, activity, health, mindfulness, and nutrition.  You can now move your tile group, but not individual tiles within a group.  To move groups of tiles scroll down to “Customize” from the Today screen and use the up or down arrows to move the group (Android) or click on the pencil icon next to the word Today (iOS) and use the arrows to move the group.

I hope this helps.

is there any way to get the battery percentage and the step streak information back? The step streak was definitely a motivator for me and I can’t seem to find it. I was over 850 days. Also, I miss the fireworks when you met goals for steps, distance and calories burned. Any way these can be added back to the app?

Agree 1,000,000 %. The new app update is terrible. No color, style, etc. looks like something a 3 year old would do

I know everyone is different. I have found that checking my battery on the actual watch is my habit. I hardly go to my app to find this information since the watch is right there on my hand. I plan to let my watch go all the way down to see if the app notifies me.

I do not know if anyone has given you suggestions. But. There should be a pencil icon on the right of your app dash board. Press the icon. The next screen will be choose focus. Here you will swipe left to change the focus. Hope this helps.

Hey, is this what you are looking for? Press on the Steps. Highlight Year. Then change the year. A graph will show up. See below the graph and you will find the totals for each month. Press on a specific month and you can see historical data by week. Press on specific week and you will find data for dailies. Is this what you were looking for?

I want to address your first issue of not being able to change step or mile goal.
1. Press on the actual steps for day.
2. There are three dots in the upper right corner. press the three dots.
3. Press the settings option. Here you will see your metrics. Select steps…. Then change it.
hope this helps.

Addressing second problem. Hard to see weekly steps.
1.  On Dashboard, press on steps.
2. On second page. Press week.
3. On this page, scroll up.

Addressing the third problem. Each tracker should have a battery level. The tracker should actual be closer to accessing battery level, vs. picking up phone, opening app, waiting for sync then checking battery level.

Adressing problem 4. I see what you say. On this one. And I believe it may change of the course of the next few days and weeks. Ie. New updates and getting used to new programming of a new app version. My tracker did not sync until I closed the app and re-opened. That has happened in the past with the old app from time to time. Eventually this problem will probably go away. For me, I will probably check and make sure the app and my iOS is always updated. I hope this helps.
