Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

It certainly seems like we’re stuck with this new version as long as we have a Fitbit.
It always seems when one company buys up another they make changes - which is their prerogative. But, the fact they removed  several of the metrics that so many of us use, is not a way to keep their customers.
I have a feeling that a lot of Fitbit users will be looking for a different tracker.

I hate I didn’t have choice to change it. I have used this app for years and find the new one visually displeasing and will look to switching to a different product now.

I have the new Fitbit set up as well. I'm trying to figure out how to get my steps at the top instead of my heart rate and also show my battery charge level on my home screen.

I know you people have the code for the last version.  Just let us reinstall it PLEASE

How do I change my “focus”? I appreciate learning about my sleep patterns, but I don’t want it at the top!

I absolutely hate the new dashboard.  I find it very tough on the eyes.  Side note, also hate that we can’t do challenges with friends any more.  Time to move back to apple

As far as I'm concerned it can roll right back in.

What a dull, boring disappointment. There's not much color, there's no fanfare when a goal is met, there seems to be no way to rearrange items under the "Activity" tab. Your focus group totally failed on this one. OK, laugh at the remark about fanfare but if you want people to be motivated to use your product, they should see some satisfaction other than a checkmark when a goal is met.

I connected it to my iphone. I think that's causing hiccups with things like step counts. A few times yesterday, the app and the Luxe screen were wildly different. Never had that problem with the previous app. I'm actually not sure there is any point to "connecting" my phone. The Luxe would still sync the regular way.

No battery percentage showing on sync, either.

LOTS of room for imrprovement here.

Ksc50, tap the pencil edit icon and then swipe the focus square to the left. At the end is one you can compose yourself.

Post your disappointment about the new update 4.0 with the FitBit app on LinkedIn, perhaps FitBit/Google management will hear about what is going wrong in the workplace. The latest firmware of the Sence2 is also still not good. And there are no solutions, in fact FitBit and Google have not made themselves heard.

While I was able to find the option to customize the app top of the app, it's still missing an important function, the battery level. I check that every night to see if there's enough for the next day or if I should charge. This is very frustrating. Also, the fact that the computer based app is gone now too is annoying. I exercise in front of a computer, not my phone. I want to see the progress on the screen as I'm working out. The phone isn't enough.

This is the worst update I have ever seen for an app. You took something that had all the information in an easy to find place and made it difficult.

I like to check daily how I’ve improved each week from previous week. All I had to do was click and scroll.

Go back to the old app with minor changes if necessary or lose another premium customer.

This whole revamp was absolutely useless and unnecessary. They certainly ruined a good thing.

Disastrous app. Please consider going back to what was absolutely perfect. I’m avoiding checking the app actually and just using my wrist device instead. Sooo many people are saying the same thing. 🙈

I really dislike the new app look that was forced on us today.

Best Answer

No it does not. It is pure junk and an invitation to explore other fitness trackers. The only value Fitbit offered was the app and now they just replaced this with the worst app ever. Shamefull.

Hello @Jillybeanmom

Just to let you know, the battery life in percentage isn't currently available in the new redesigned app. There's a feature request in the Feedback forum where you can vote & comment for this to be returned to the app: No battery percentage in new app

We encourage everyone to submit their votes to return this much needed & used feature to the app.

Can you at least put the heartbeat animation back on the heart tile??

Does this update mean I can go back to using my Charge 5; which was less than 2 years old when it became a useless blank screen, instead of my old Charge 2?

Best Answer

Please note for those considering Garmin: you can't add a manual activity if you forgot your device.  One thing I love about Fitbit (sigh).

New app absolutely sucks. I can’t for the life of me figure out why people have to mess with something that already works great. I guess I’ll just have to buy another wrist workout tracker.

Has the step streak banner been removed?
