Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

It's been Googleized. It was a good platform before Google got their hands on it.

The app specifically the GUI was the best part of Fitbit, now it’s the worst and I’m out.

I agree, this is not a change for the better. Not only does it not show the battery level of my Charge 5, it also no longer shows my current heart rate. It shows a range, and resting heart rate, but not current. So I have to buy some other device to monitor my heart rate when I’m working out? Is there a way to switch back to the previous format?

I HATE the new app design. I hav been thinking of going with a different brand. This non-user friendly app just may get me to switch.

I don’t like this new layout on my phone. Hey google I’m not blind, I don’t need my screen supersized. I can’t move the icons to where I originally had them and I have to look for my battery life.

I agree this was the main way I used Fitbit, it’s so hard to plan my evening meal now as I don’t know if I’m going to be in a deficit or not, why would this get rid of this usage. I’ve tried to link my fitness pal as an alternative but what my fitness pay thinks I’ve burnt in a day is different to what Fitbit says, so it’s not a good solution

Yep. Now I have to either display my weight (instead of just how much I’ve lost) or make it much harder to log. Plus it doesn’t display battery life so I already know it’s going to die on me.
It’s getting harder to resist an Apple Watch now.
ETA: I hate that I can’t arrange the stats in the order I would like. If I want my heart rate near the top, I need to have my period tracker near the top. The latter can happily stay at the bottom, I don’t need to check that several times a day. Why can’t I arrange the stats individually instead of as entire sections? Ugh. I hate it.

It would be really helpful if there were a list of all users voicing their opinions here (poll?)
Also a list of things that disappeared
Battery indicator
Heart rate zones during exercise
Vitals during sleep
Fireworks
Too much space
Can't really see when goals met
Streaks
Plus button obscures data
Feel free to add❤️

So how do i actually roll-back to the previous version of the app? This new version is dreadful - need I go any further.
And where is the ability to log my food and drink...so NOT happy with this enforced update to the app

Are we able to switch back to the old interface?

I also hate the new app, open it up this morning and I can’t find anything. I can’t find the things that I need to know about our regular basis such as my step count or my heart rate. Plus I hate the freaking color, what happened to the colorful backgrounds now everything is green. That’s not helpful for those of us with vision problems.

The one thing I looked at the most on the app was the calories left to take in (taking into account resting metabolism until eod) and that’s now gone? The only one left is the real-time calorie deficit which isn’t helpful at all.

Such on the fly changes without warning or explanation may disappoint many users.
They probably should have released a new Fitbit App 2 version as many previous online help in the forums too is now incorrect.

I don't care about fonts, or colors, or the ability to re-arrange things. As someone who deals with depression on a regular basis, I don't exaggerate when I say that the step streak feature was the only thing that got me out of bed on some days. Reading through a lot of these comments, it seems that fitbit (google) simply don't understand (or in the case of google, care) how their userbase uses their product. Removing features is *never* an upgrade. Please bring back the streak feature.

I hate it!! How about a little heads up & see if we wanted it or give us the option to change or stay. Apple Watch is looking better, don’t like the new layout, not giving me the information I want. The old format was so user friendly easy to use, yeah I know developers will say “It takes a little adjusting to something new”, well I don’t want to learn new, I want what I’m use to.

Really dislike the new app design. Not user friendly at all. Graphics too big, features arranged poorly. The main reason most folks us Fitbit is for steps and that’s now way down the screen. Just really bad overall. Please bring option for old display back.

Yes!! There was nothing wrong with the previous format, so why go monkeying with things. Some people think change is necessary, just for the sake of having something different. That’s unfortunate for the rest of us who were happy with what we had.

Totally agree. I can’t put the focus where I want it.

I have a Luxe Fitbit. My iPhone’s dashboard was changed today without my permission. I hate it. It looks sterile and unappealing in addition to being difficult to read. All text and no colors or icons that help to visually to differentiate between the data. This means that have to read EVERYTHING! I used to be able to put each and every tile of information where I wanted it, but now it has arbitrarily grouped things together in separate sections so I am forced to scroll past data i don’t want to see to find what I’m looking for. I was able to glance at colorful icons which would keep me from having to read to navigate my information. I am older and my eyesight is not as sharp as it used to be. This app was intuitive from a human factors engineering standpoint. It is now dull as dishwater, hard to see, forces people to read through text and scroll through groupings to arrive at their information. The data that was collected for days of activity is also now very tiny and makes one feel that their progress is not important. I don’t know who was in charge of this change or for what reason, but as a very visual person I feel that they should be working in a bank with young people as the changes have zero creativity and the visuals are so small they seem to appeal to those only interested in having the data, not interacting with it on a daily basis as part of a health and wellness plan.
