Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

The app GUI looks like it was designed by a child. What is wrong with you?

Yes that it is true but the magnitude of the changes reflects on very poor customer service.

I’m super frustrated by the new design. Its minimalist look and feel eliminates any signals about what to pay attention to. Everything looks the same which makes it really hard to find anything. Ironically, the new design results in the “today” screen feeling cluttered and confusing rather than simple and easy to use, which I know was the intent. Without the use of color or any clear hierarchy, it’s impossible to know where anything is or what the values in the cards actually signify. Also, some key metadata has been removed from certain cards. For instance, I used to be able to look at the HR card and see exactly what range I am in. Both the color of the value and the associated label (“fat burning” “cardio” etc.) signaled to me what was happening with my HR. But now, both of those visual cues are gone. You’ve flattened the experience so much that it’s lost its core meaning.
Please consider how you can bring more visual cues back in to help users know where to focus, and to signal meaning in the values on the Today page. And for the love of all things great and wonderful in the golden age of technology, please please please build a dark mode.

Also, it doesn’t show my anticipated calories remaining for the day now. I am so agitated by this change. Who in this company is trying to destroy FitBit?? Seriously. Someone is obviously trying to drive away the customers.

Majorly dislike the new app. So many data points that I used to track are just no longer available. Every time they do an update they take away data. Where does it end? Eventually what is left?

Really upset there is no battery indicator, one of the MOST important things on the app!

since it was removed, I doubt it will return in the future. there is no way to change it back to the previous app. Fitbit doesn't have to get our permission to change things. See Section 18 of the Terms of Service.

The calorie left tracker was the only reason I loved Fitbit and it’s gone… new app is horrible. I will not renew premium and will start looking for another tracker. Please bring old design back - this is horrible!

@294Mark @I was met with the same level of apathy when I used the chat to ask questions and speak with someone in customer support. I asked very politely several times whether there was an option to switch back to old version even temporarily, but received no answer to my actual question, just an ending response of “I’m sorry you feel this way” (after having politely stated my dissatisfaction and confusion) and the chat was ended. That was it for me. No more.

The new version is visually awful and clunky. I wish I could put it back.

Yes, Update pushed on us Sucks!

I wish I could return to the previous version, too. This is an absolute misery. Did they talk to any actual users before messing it up entirely?

there is no way to change it back to the previous app. They just released it, so don't expect it to change quickly, if at all. Fitbit doesn't have to get our permission to change things. See Section 18 of the Terms of Service.
