Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

For a direct approach, go to the Fitbit X site and post your issues.  This may be a better way.  Also, add a link to this forum.

Dumped X when it became X

Yes. I am amazed at how much I hate this app!   And i'm also amazed that I am also considering getting out of fitbit after many years and starting with another brand.  This was kind of a business disaster.

New app is total piece of crap! So frustrated I ordered a Garmin today.

Gosh how I dislike the new app face. Its awful.

I just updated the app without reading comments first - HUGE mistake. The new dashboard is awful and taking away the step streak is the most asinine decision ever! That was one thing that motivated me to keep stepping when I was tired and don’t feel like it. The thought of losing that streak kept me going. Now you have taken away one of the best features. I had just pre-ordered the new Charge 6 but I’m cancelling that order and switching to an Apple Watch. The poor decisions lately have lost my loyalty - I’ve been a customer for over 7 years.

I hate the fact that I can't have the map simply show with distance markers and my stats.   Now it looks like a kindergartener traced lines on the map,  and there's no easy way to show my map and stats

Pleaseeeeee put the battery percentage back at the top of the app screen.

It surprises me each time I see that ridiculous circle next to heart rate/bpm.
it’s as if the range is from dead to death. Too low to heart attack high.

Is this the takeaway Google wants us to have?

Not to mention that much of the time I check bpm during the day, it shows only a range but can’t bother to show a specific number. Yeah, after you have heart surgery, you want a bit more detail. But then I forgot that the syncing is a huge mess, so how can anything you show us be accurate anymore (insofar as these gadgets can be accurate).

It’s so bad. It’s just flat out awful. I never really write bad reviews and if it was something fairly minor I would just roll with it. But this stupid unnecessary new update is difficult to read and get to the relevant information, for some reason its better to have the particular goal instead of just designing the widgets the way you want them to be? It’s not consistent throughout, something I guess they plan to change but didn’t want to finish before deciding to roll it out anyway? It’s awful, it looks like something from 2008. I’ve had a Fitbit for almost 5 years now and I typically check the app every single day- and I haven’t in a week. Every time I open it (because I forget) I’m greeted by the same mess and immediately close it back out. Please Fitbit please give us back the original, beloved format. I know you’re trying to keep up with the times but if you’re going to change something make it better- not an ugly mess.

Yeah- no comments allowed either. Thanks so much Lizzy from Fitbit for letting me know how to find what my battery percent is- now who do we actually talk to to fix something that was not a problem to begin with??

Best Answer

Solid approach. I’ll be doing the same.

Best Answer

Its horrible. I hate it.

Best Answer

On the verge of doing the same. Decided I'll wait until black Friday- give fitbit a chance to respond and fix it and also get a better deal if they don't. But I really hate the app now, I'm not bothering to use it.

Hello All!  Someone is listening to us. More press coverage! Google now it’s your turn to hear what we have to say.

Good.

Ever since I got stuck with this new look it makes me more annoyed each time I have to look for something in the app. The old layout was much better and the colors for this new layout is depressing.

Dear LizzyFitbit,

is there a reply from Fitbit om the numerous complaints on the new app?
I’ve skimmed through the hundreds of replies that flood my mailbox hoping the old app will be re-instated. But there are so many that I hope I missed the update.
sorry it seems to be so badly received but the best thing a company can do after making a mistake is own up and come with a great solution.

kind regards, Misha

This is a terrible design. Boring, Difficult to distinguish between the features as they all look the same. How can I change it back?

Best Answer

The customers are literally telling you (screaming) about what they want and nothing is being done. Press coverage coming before FitBit taking action. What happened to learning from mistakes quickly? This app update was a massive mistake. Time to correct it.

I get you’re wanting to redesign things and keep them fresh but this is awful

Terrible usability, hard to navigate, bland… the list goes on.

not a good design and unless something changes quickly I’ll be ditching my Fitbit and moving to Apple.

It’s terrible!! I’ve been in the fence with Fitbit vs apple and this has just made my decision. It just doesn’t work for me anymore

Would love love to understand your consumer research and A/B testing results as I really can’t see how this was a favourable option!
