Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

It is so awful. The graphics look like they are for pre-schoolers. I am so unhappy. Can't they get better graphic design people on this? Better yet, just go back to the old graphics that we all know and love.

They’re destroying nest. Fitbit is right behind.

Solid approach.

Agreed. This is actually a sad situation.

Hi
Like a few others here I am disappointed with the UX changes rolled out. It's bland and hard to like. Where us colour and choice that is essential in app design these days? Can't see how would not be difficult for those with sight difficulties to use and where has the battery indicator gone?? Shocking and will consider move to different device... but does fitbit care?

Please return to the old app. I liked it the way it was.

It’s a terrible app and messed with a good thing. The dull colours, fonts and terrible organization is not user friendly. I will be looking elsewhere and moving on to another fitness tracker. So unimpressed. Ugh.

Why mess with a good thing? Terrible organization of data, dull colours and bleak font, less access to data, less user friendly…. this app is way below par. Knowing that my membership money went into funding this design is upsetting. I am actively looking at other fitness apps/devices with smarter controls. I’ve been an active Fitbit user for several years and am beyond disappointed.

Why isn’t there a Thumbs Down for this post? The new app looks like a kindergarten child drew the icons. It is hideous and I can’t get it to sync in a timely manner. It takes forever now! HUGE step backwards in my view!

I agree. I do not like the new app and want to go back to the previous Fitbit app!

What a horrendously ugly redesign!? Is it possible to go back to the previous version?

Yes please go back to the old app format. I can no longer change my watch face!! 😞

What have the developers done, the app is now next to useless - no battery indicator, the resting pulse rate has gone up by over 10%, steps per hour is somewhere! You have just added an extra layer and taken useful functionality away.
As normal, updates are never tested in house but left to the consumers to do for you.
Please restore to previous update.

Terrible, prone to break hardware gets ugly, clunky software.... In a way this fits. Fitbits main goal seems to be selling subscriptions.

OMG what have you done to the app….what a boring, drab, colourless app….so unexciting

I do NOT like the new app/look AT ALL. I’ve given it some time and thought I might get used to it, but I hate it so much that I am researching new devices to get instead. The old app did not work properly and it was far from perfect but the look was OK and I could find what I needed. I’ll keep using it for now for the notifications and alarms that buzz on my wrist until I save enough to purchase something else instead.

This is a huge backward step for fitbit. What a disappointment, this is change for the sake of change and certainly is not continuous improvement.

@TerriFout i did... i rang them and told them how many pages of complaints there were on here and that it was about 1,300 comments. i said i also heard it was all over Twitter and other social media and it made the news. i queried why the moderator has not responded to a single comment on here and gone totally silent. they told me they were aware of it all. i said if you don't do something and quick you will lose your clients. i was told that in the next couple of days an email was being sent out with a questionnaire so we could rate from 1 to 5 or 1 to 10 on what we liked or disliked about it all. well if this email doesn't arrive soon i am calling back again and asking where it is!

I am so disappointed with this new app. I have had a Fitbit since 2016 and have LOVED it. Now it just doesn't work. I have set targets which I have achieved and yet the app is saying I haven't. The miles are recorded there but the app says I have not reached my target. So FRUSTRATING!

The new updated app is unfriendly and the interface too complicated. The old was far cleaner and neater to use!
another round of applause to Google for its continuous efforts to ruin a great product.

Lizzy, I sure hope you aren't the one behind this redesigned app. As the rest of the however many commentors pointed out, it is absolutely AWFUL!!! Hate it hate it hate it.
Between my husband and myself, we own FOUR Fitbits we both hate this new app. Because that's what it is. When you take a perfectly functional app that works quite well and change it this much... that's not a redesign, it's a complete FAIL.
There are fitness watches that are a whole lot cheaper than Fitbits, and while I really like my Luxes with their daintier jewelry-like appearance (especially the one with the Gorjana band!), if Fitbit doesn't at least give me the option to switch BACK to the original app, with the ability to re-order the sections the way WE want them, or even dispense with some sections altogether (men and most senior women certainly don't need to use a menstrual cycle section!) you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be looking to find a different fitness watch with a better-designed app from a company that's willing to LISTEN to their customers.
