Hello everyone!

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

As you and your company obviously know by now hundreds of people hate this so called 'update'.

Especially taking away something simple like the battery percentage which everyone knew at a glance how much battery charge they had left on their Fitbit.

There's been no consultation with your many users what they actually want. Did somebody ask someone else in your office do you use the battery percentage? They probably said no so have taken it off for everyone..

So now everyone is waiting for your company to admit they've made a mistake and will now put it back on.

The new app is the worst thing to have happened to my fitbit experience, I have been using my fitbit for 3 years and it is on its last legs. I am not going to buy a new fitbit as the app makes it almost unusable given my experience with the previous app.

I am going to buy a Samsung watch or an Apple watch. Goodbye fitbit/google.

The app SUCKS!

I agree with you 100%. I won't keep my premium.

I hate the new Fitbit app. It looks like it was designed by a 7 year-old with one green crayon, who likes to write REAL BIG!  But, it gets worse. My app just launched the new dashboard!. There is so much information, it doesn't fit on the phone's screen! I have scroll from left to write to see the graphs! Yikes. Google has made a nightmare out of Fitbit.

If I could go back a week ago and not update to the new app, I gladly would. The new app doesn’t have my step streak or the user-friendly interface, and it’s miscounting my steps. Hopefully Fitbit figures out a way to fix these issues or I’ll be moving to a different fitness tracker.

The new app is useless, the layout is terrible, its basic with information missing. The old app was so much better bring it back and get rid of this update or refund me for my fitbit as its useless now

Woke up this morning to find the fitbit app interface has changed. It looks cold, boring, grayish wallpaper mode and unappealing. Likely the ugliest update I’ve seen from them.

But not only this, they also for strange reason removed functions, things that worked fine before are gone: my walking streak, the max HR record post exercise, the HR zone coloring, the strange scale on HR graphs, the constant need of scrolling just to see metrics that before you had on a single page, cumulative totals of week/months/years, no differentiation of anything, no autorecognition of activities, can't even edit your manual activities anymore, supersized text without much value except filling half of my screen and I could go on.

Working myself in product management I'm speechless how such thing obviously layouted by an 5 year old with an false color pack of crayons and implemented by 1st grade coding students could make it into the public without A/B testing and even touted from executives as "new re-designed app with you in mind". They should know that such big wave updates today, don't longer work particular if you have a million user base using an previous version and are active daily.

And this isn't about opposing "change", change into something worst as before isn't smart, it's dumb. Just horrible fail of an app update.

Your post says it all. Is Fitbit (or Google) even responding to the negative feedback or do they just not care?

Best Answer

No one from FitBit and Google responds to all complaints from their customers on the community, social media and LinkedIn. On LinkedIn FitBit I receive no responsefunctie my question except that a software engineer has viewed my profile.
Conclusion, FitBit and Google are letting down all their (potential) customers. A shame because the FitBit smartwatch is many times better than Google's own.

I agree. I found the old display gave me more motivation, while the new one is just causing me frustration and I'm seriously thinking about switching to another brand.

Really unhappy with the new interface at the moment. Just mostly black lines letters dashes on a white background, not half as intuitive or clear as last one. It’s also much slower and getting my sleep times wrong. Currently looking up Apple Watches! Totally disappointed with Fitbit .

Don’t like the new app!

New app home page doesn’t give me all info at a glance it’s vague, bland and makes me feel unaccomplished

Fitbit UX people: good grief!! Did you talk to any actual Fitbit users?!? Or did you just decide for yourself how the new Fitbit app was going to be? The new interface is demotivating (insipid bland colours now, not enough contrast) and really annoying new “features”!
One of the new annoying things is how all the numbers (step counts, zone minutes, etc.) all “recount” themselves every time you scroll through the dates. What’s the point of that?!? I already earned them — you don’t have to create the illusion that they are getting tallied up *again* every time I look at them. Visually busy and annoying, and having to wait every.single.time for the “retallying” to finish, just so that I can read the numbers.

Very much dislike the new app design. Everything is bland muted colors and difficult to quickly look at what I want to know because it doesn’t pop out. No dark mode. It’s all just very blah and harder to navigate.

BTW, you can also do a Google review of Fitbit to make your dissatisfaction known there

Absolutely horrible, want to old app back 😖

Best Answer

Agreed. Hate the blank white background. I want to see my daily steps at the top instead of having to scroll down and I can’t find a way to change it

Best Answer

I can’t even sync since the update

New app shows my heart rate or the entire health stats. I can't find the way to steps and other states to the top. Any help out here??  In fact I hate it. It's showing only 3 days of walking but my big computer that I can sync to has all of the days. What could be going on with the steps not showing???

The update of the app is terrible!!! Not motivating, not easier to read! looks like they've downgraded us.

I think I’m gonna buy a different watch brand unfortunately.

so disappointed!
awful changes! feels like they disrespect us users.
