Go to Fitbit on “X,” formerly known as Twitter. Link the Community Forum. I did that; got a response.

Sleep is not correct in new app.

This is the worst update app I’ve ever had. I can no longer sync and see my sleep data, which is the reason why I have a Fitbit. Every morning I have to add my Fitbit to the app and then it doesn’t have any of the sleep data. Can we please roll back to the old version? I never had any issue with the old version app, so easy to use, can switch back and forth between mine and my son’s Fitbit. This new one I have no clue how it works and how product manager decided to roll it out.

I hate the supposed new app or dashboard. Pleeease bring back the old one or at least give us a choice like you give us a choice of clock face. I don’t know who designed this dashboard but they know nothing about ease of reading and keeping track of statistics. I know it takes time to get used to something new but this is definitely NOT better.

Hi All, How to deal with the redesigned Fitbit App change

Some options and things to think about which won't resolve the app problems but may help some.

To avoid getting the redesigned Fitbit App on your phone make sure your Play Store or Apple Store settings don't permit automatic app updates - this means you need select apps you want updated manually but you won't get any you don't want.

Although this shouldn't be necessary you can use the web dashboard which still offers some nice quick views of your data, and if your browser is in dark mode, you get that too.

If you move to another brand you can get all your Fitbit data from the web Data Export - this can take some time but should be the complete archive.

Some brands allow you to import [some or all] of your Fitbit data to the brand new platform directly, EG,  Import Data From Fitbit® to Garmin Connect ,or via shared services, such as MyFitnessPal.

Why the Google Pixel Watch app [Android only] is in dark mode by default and the new Fitbit app isn't, is a mystery. And not sure why they didn't provide the option to switch between classic view [old version] and new view in the same app so that users can choose which best fits their needs.

If you choose to switch brands find devices with good battery life if this is important for you, 10 or more days is easily possible with some new devices.

@Oldbay Sick of the sneaky stuff, too! Sorry if someone's already asked this but, how do we turn off location tracking? Thanks in advance for your help.

So once the new app has downloaded because I had automatic update on, I can’t delete or go back to the original dashboard?  I tried what you suggested but neither gave me a dashboard that worked well. Usually when there is an update it improves the way the app works. In this case it resulted in a much worse app. Please get my old dashboard back to me.

I am BEYOND DISAPPOINTED with the new dashboard! This format is not an upgrade, in my opinion. It is not aesthetically pleasing, as many on this forum have stated. How is that, in itself, an UPGRADE? I also find the new dashboard to be less motivating. Shouldn't the design motivate its users? Isn't that the point of have a fitness watch? Now, when you achieve your daily goal, there are no visual graphics to celebrate your achievement. I LOVED feeling my device vibrate and seeing virtual stars, balloons, and/or highlights when hit my 10,000 steps! That was truly motivating to me! Why was that feature removed? Additionally, you have to scroll downward to see how many flights of steps you have walked (used to be right at the top). I like seeing as many data points as possible "at a glance," as opposed to scrolling. There are over 1,400 negative responses to this new dashboard design. That's a problem. I have been a Fitbit user for over ten years. I feel my/our voices should be heard. How we feel should matter to the company because we financially support this business. Many of us are asking to have the old dashboard back on our device. Please allow us the option to switch back, or please improve this new design to be a true upgrade that looks nice, but more importantly includes the lost features that were loved by many of us. I/We have other choices. Personally, I would like to remain a loyal Fitbit user, but I need to see that our voices are going to be heard. Again, please give us the option to switch back to the old dashboard, or please vastly improve this new dashboard. Thank you.

There’s a problem with the Garmin procedure. Once your Fitbit acct is converted to a Google acct, you no longer have the option to export your Fitbit data in a .CVS format as before. The export function now invokes a function called “Google Takeout”. There is no way to specify a time frame nor what Fitbit data you want exported. This creates a .ZIP file with multiple folders containing an odd mix of seemingly random data, with no detailed detail data. The data is summarized and reported in a way that is useless at best.

DO NOT CONVERT TO GOOGLE!   I have not and I will not. F them!

Second time asking, Are you changing the app back today?

How can I change back to the old app version? This new, 4.0, version is awful.
