Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

The update is absolute garbage. Whoever gave the thumbs up to push this update should no longer have a job. My watch no longer tracks my sleep or doesn’t track it throughout the night. If this can’t be fixed, I’ll be switching to Apple

I am again voicing my opinion. I am greatly disappointed with Fitbit on this issue. Christmas is coming and Apple Watches are looking good.

THIS IS A TERRIBLE UPDATE! Please let us go back to version 3.90! I promise you I will never buy a new Fitbit if this UI continues. It is terrible!!! Before I could see at a glance if I was on Fat burning vs Cardio zone and now nothing, it is all green all the time. To see the battery life, before I could just sync and see the number right there... now is gone!. I am seriously very mad about this, I wish I had known this was happening to not update the app at all. I do not trust this company now, I am afraid of updating the app again and loose more features!! Why the silence? Just roll the app back to what it was!!

Version 4.0 is terrible, before it was fun using the app and now I don't want to even open it. Please, how can we go back to version 3.90?

Google, there are 1,482 comments (plus many more deleted ones) in this thread as Oct.9 nearly 2 weeks after you released the app update version 4.0, there is literally no other thread cumulate more comments as this one, most of them negative and rejecting your attempt to "re-design" the Fitbit app. The Appstore rating of the Fitbit app is plummeting daily.

Are you listening? Any response?

You still think you can pretend not to be bothered and just sit this out?

Searched on Google "download older fitbit app" There IS a site with all the older versions. Shows up as "Older Versions of Fitbit (Android)" in the search.

Was able to download the August 21, 2023 version (the one previous to the massive UI redesign) and it is working perfectly. Then went into Fitbit on Google Play and set the app to NOT auto update.

Not posting the actual link, do not want them to block or delete the posts

@carringtondl to add: missing weekly totals from previous weeks (old app had it easily in one display, new app you need to swipe and swipe) and max HR after exercise (new app only shows average HR for some strange reason)

This is the worst app update of any app I’ve ever used. It looks terrible, no longer do we get the satisfaction of a “closed ring” celebration when a goal is met. It takes three times of pulling down the app to refresh for anything to actually update and refresh and at times it doesn’t link to my Aria scale inexplicably.

add to that that it somehow drains my Luxe battery, I used to charge once a week now it’s every other day.

I am so, so disappointed. This new app is turning me off my Fitbit all together

Questions and Doubts for Andreaj

How does removing a highly popular feature “Step Streak” enhance user experience. From the hundreds of messages concerning this feature it was not only popular but a very important motivator. Which is the very basic function of a fitness device. So we are attempting to contact you with our concerns.

Sincerely

Another disappointed Fitbit user

Fitbit app ‘upgrade’ is HORRIBLE. Bland colour hard to see, bloated screen, heart rate monitoring goes screwy, over focus on mindfulness, too much on averages, can hardly read total steps for the week. I’ll be cancelling as soon as I can. All Fitbit users please unite and share feedback!!! GOOGLE really GOOFED on this one. So sad as it was the best. Fitbit RIP.

Please fix the new app. It has so many glitches that when I’m using it I feel like I’m back in the 90s using dial-up. Please fix it or revert back to the old app which worked perfectly. Thanks!

I have discontinued the automatic renewal of my premium membership.  If the app is restored to its previous functionality (step streaks restored, jogging maps, device battery power) then I may reinstate it... Until then, you have just lost another $80 a year from me!  Cheers!  Furthermore... when this device kicks the bucket (which is only a matter of time), I will be seriously considering an apple watch.

Absolutely hate, hate, hate the new updated version of my Fitbit app. I wish I could return to the original version.

I agree! This new look is unappealing and I find myself using the app much less because it isn’t “fun” anymore. It’s so boring and all the features look exactly the same which is honestly confusing.

I would also love to uninstall the update and go back to the old layout.

For some time, I have been resolving to become less obsessed with my Fitbit. I had found myself reluctant to do things that would get in the way of my precious step streak, or my efforts to get 9/9 active hours each day. That's no way to live. Now, amazingly, with the new app, Fitbit found a way to make its product less interesting to me. Fitbit Premium is definitely off the table. Thanks, Fitbit, for helping me wean off your product!

Me too just cancelled renewal. Wonder if I can cancel what’s left

An you undo the update? I hate this version!

I hate this new layout. I want to see the things in an order that I think are important not what you think are.

Also can't see the battery charge immediately.

Absolutely rubbish. Please change it back.

Disappointing that I can't see available calories for the day on the front page that was there on the old app. This was the total number of calories available for whole the day based on my weight loss goal and how much I already consumed. I found this very helpful as it increased as I exercised so motivated me to walk if I fancied another beer etc. This was the single feature that helped me loose weight. Can we please have this back? I have an apple watch in the draw at home but used the fitbit because I preferred the (old) fitbit app.

This is the only social media post or review I have ever made in my life - because I am really hoping there will be changes to improve the new app.
