Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

I agree! I’ve walked over 18,000 steps but the new app says that translates to 0.0 miles. I also don’t like the way it displays information on the watch face.

I hate the new app! It looks and performs like a beta! It lags in logging my steps and I can’t see my heart rate.

Lizzy dear this so called upgrade is horrible. Look at the thousands of concerns. And this is just the start. Fitbit used to be the best tracker on the market. You have made Apple’s day with this one. With all the frustrated users why are you not responding???? Please please please DO NOT SCREW THIS UP FURTHER. You need to turn back the hands of time before you lose us all. C.

The new app is an abysmal failure. And… I found this solution if you use fruit products (get it???) AND it’s works with my Fitbit!!! Use the StepsApp which is very similar to the old app AND you can sync Fitbit with an app called Fitbit to Fruit (code word) Health Sync. My goal streak it back! It WORKS WITH FITBIT. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now with Fitbit and trying my old Fruit Watch. We don’t need Fitbit! I for one will NEVER purchase a Google product. Their disdain for customers is not something I can support. And … THIS WORKS!

Calories aren’t tracking accurately.
What I recorded today and what the app is showing don’t match. See screen shots.
just one more issue with the “improved” app.
It would be the right thing to do for Fitbit to at least acknowledge that their new app has an accuracy issue. If you don’t want to change it at least make it work properly.
It’s not what us long term users expect and deserve.

This is the most boring, colorless, least inspirational dashboard i have ever seen. Everything in nothing but one blob of black and white which leaves no separation for the eyes.
i get no enjoyment from this new color scheme whatsoever. Isn't a dashboard supposed to be happy and give you inspiration to watch your progress. This is as boring as watching paint dry. It’s terrible i cant say one good thing about this change. Is this a new google design? If so quite unbelievable because google is nothing but colors. Designers please put some happiness back in to this app.

I wish i knew the same this new version is so **ahem** boring. No color but black and white no separation for the eyes. The way i see it this cant even be called a “design” looks like somebody typed some extra large words and drew a shoe. If this was designed by the google team i am shocked and disappointed as google is nothing but color. This is so sad as i have been a Fitbit user for years since the early clip ons. I am far from impressed i feel Fitbit and google have let us all down. I could have had my grandkids do a better designing job. This just plain SUCKS. I do not get an ounce of thrill opening my fit bit app any longer. And what also ticks me off is i didn't update…i opened my Fitbit in the morning and good morning enjoy this black and white boring blob. Come on designers you can do a better job than this crap you rolled out.

Hi Lizzy,
Please bring back the step streak feature. In a chaotic world, it was something I could count on, a small victory for me, as moved to each new level - first 10 days, then 100, then 365, 500 and on and on.
You have the data - it can’t be that hard to bring the counter back!
Please let us know when this will happen.
Thanks!

1 hour into json conversion of my data export :D.
When I have the comparison of the Apple sleep watch data over the last year, I will leave the final part of Alphabet/google data first, customer never important mindset.
I hope Fitbit is saving a lot of money with the App redesign, as a result of lower computational reqirements.
It must have been the focus.
If you had any user interactions and feedback loops, the result would have been usefull.
Final nail in the coffin for me.

Dear Lizzy what on earth are Fitbit thinking about if they think this new design is any good, it's awful, badly set up , thought out, uninspiring and messy, bring back the old one please

I’ve managed to find my way around the new dashboard but one feature that seems to be missing that I used daily was the battery status. I’ve looked all over and cannot find it. That small item allowed me to ensure the battery was adequately charged. Since that display was removed, I’ve had multiple occasions where I was near the end of the charge and didn’t realize it. Removing that item was a real oversight for anyone like me who accesses the app daily to review sleep metrics and other health metrics. Please put that back and make it even more prominent. While I can see the battery status on the Fitbit directly, it’s more of an afterthought and this morning I didn’t realize the battery status until I tried to do the app synch and it was not updating. Never received an email as I had before notifying me the battery was low. You guys missed the mark on this latest App update.

Okay. This week a person commented on how to revert back to fitbit 3.85 and several people were successful. They directed me to the comments on page #49. There was the suggestion to a YouTube video. Watched it. But the creator is from Germany, and demonstrated using their local apps, which confused me. So can someone please list the steps to a safe conversion? I found an app that has the 3.85 app but I was afraid to download it. Any HELP! will be greatly appreciated.
I cannot even LOOK at the new "improved" version. I actually get a little nauseous. 🤮
----
Interesting. I named the app that had the 3.85 version, but i got a message that the name had to be removed. Good indicator that the app must be legit. Thanks Google censors for showing me your "hand."

I definitely need the old app back. A poor job on the redesign.

Just curious. Did you delete the new app before or after you installed the old one?

Hello Steevo1,
Did not delete at all, When I clicked on the API to install it, it said it needed to remove the existing app. When it finished and had installed the old one, I opened it and everything was as it was before. It just works now. Make sure to go into Google Play, go to the actual fitbit app (as if you were going to download or leave a comment), click on the 3 dots at the upper right and "un-check" auto-update.. And probably leave a comment about how bad the new app is.. 😉

@Jfyifylnvb Is the StepsApp free or is there a subscription fee? Thanks!

Well, since the new app, my exercise does not auto track, I've had a couple of days with a readiness score from two weeks and my battery on a new Sense 2 drains far more quickly. The app is appallingly poor. I hate the way the steps count scrolls up when you look at the app, it sets off my migraines! I am extremely disappointed and have been with fitbit for six years. The team who designed (and I use the word in the loosest sense) this app should hang their heads in shame. I am extremely fed up. Fitbit, up your game!
