Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

Wow! What a dreadful, ugly, dysfunctional mess this app is now. It must be intentional.

I’ve had a daily step streak for over four years, but now I’m moving to another device as this is such a poor experience, it just makes me unhappy.

And took away the ability to "like" some of them. 🙄

As they did with n e s t.

  • How soon before you take the hint that we all hate the new app and revert it back?  Do you want to wait until we all move to another tracker that doesn’t look like a 2 year old developed the app?

The only reason I can think why Google changed the app so that it is useless is so that it is in a format that they can data mine the info and sell the info to their advertisers.

I hate the new app! I can't rearrange the tiles to the way I want them, they used to have different colors to recognize the section I wanted to go to, now it's all one color, I can't see my battery status, and basically....I hate everything about the new app!

Since Google maybe listening to the feedback and making a few changes, I'm hoping they'll see this.  I like to screenshot my fitbit and add it to my strava activity. Fitbit partners with strava but only for walking and running activities. My weights or classes do not sync to strava.

The incredibly boring UI And color scheme is obvious. Also despite the gigantic font and ridiculous white space I find it less readable. But I've lost some info in the avtivity bricklet. No longer do I see a colorful representation of my zones and heart rate during my workout. That activity bricklet was full of information in an engaging way and very readable and understandable. Also I used to be able to see my steps in the screenshot and that's gone. In the new UI they added the days of the week I worked out which is the least important info to me. I work out on the days I can work out and feel like working out. And whether that's a Tuesday or a Friday doesn't matter to me. I'm people google till christmas some UI changes or else a garmin venu SQ2 will be under the tree for me.

now you have taken away fat burning, cardio and peak minutes….. lovely

Fitbit continues to be inconsistent in the way that they referred to things in the application. In zone minutes heart rate is referred to his light, moderate, vigorous and peak but if you go into other metrics, you will still find that they are using that burn, cardio and peak. The same way that if you look in the focus, they’re called calories if you look down in the activities section, it’s called energy burned, followed by the number and then calories and this inconsistency continues into the users manuals. Fitbit continues to be inconsistent in use of terminology, and this has been going on for years. Just one more thing that has not changed but has changed.

I honestly think Fitbit should be offering refunds to people who signed up with the APP in mind. That is the ONLY reason I continue with Fitbit

the idea that they take this completely away from us and send a completely inadequate team of programmers and design techs to this device/app  is completely crazy. I would like a refund as I feel I was sold this device under false pretences and feel like this is the least Fitbit/google can do !!!!

Totally agree - they have destroyed our experience. If I bought a car because of the features and design then someone came along and totally changed it I would want a refund. Really good point.

After a month I still say the new look is a boring, uninteresting step backwards. I very much prefer the old look. Run, do not walk back to the 'Revert' switch.

You can find that burn, cardio, antique, referred to when you click on the heart rate, and then swipe from page one, to page 3. On page 3, you will see that calories are referred to as fat, cardio, and peak. If you go to exercise days and then click on a period of exercise, and look at the detail breakdown for that exercise. You will see that again that burn, cardio and peak are referred to as calorie burn and not the moderate, vigorous and peak used in zone minutes. These were the first two that I checked, because I was sure I would find The information, but this may also be true in other metrics within the Fitbit iOS application. Another area of inconsistency you might note would be if you went into my account in the upper right hand corner, and scroll down to help and then opened up that screen if you clicked on , the area where you can check to see if your software is up today and after checking that out, wanted to back out, you would click in the upper left-hand corner which is consistent with every other screen if I recall correctly in the Fitbit iOS app and appears to be in Industry/developer standard. But to get from the initial health screen back to the my account screen you have to click in the upper right. This is something so simple. It is surprising that it was missed. I hope this information was helpful. Podunk.

What used to be one simple step takes multiple clicks. Not progress!’

  • Thank you I’ve found it. Not as detailed or easy to see on previous app and I was using this to improve my fitness so gutted but thank you for your help 😊

I have no interest in switching to google (not to mention hating to use the new downgraded app version).

Being bullied into a switch means I’m another dissatisfied user who is shopping for a fitness watch unconnected to google.

If you think that % is tiny on a Charge 5, try it on a Luxe! 😝😵💫🥸

AGREE!!! Please let me know if you find out a way to change it back. The new look is awful! They took 3 giant steps backward!

Thanks,

Since I upgraded my Fitbit App to 4.01, my Versa 2 no longer consistently records/syncs my sleep.  Very frustrating.  What can I do to remedy the situation?  I check my sleep every morning of every day and now that check is gone. Please provide assistance.

Same here. No score the Last 2 nights. The device was tight on my wrist. The redesigned app is bad enough but add inconsistent performance and it’s hard to keep paying for this crap.
