Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

Horrific. Nothing working, inclined to give up Fitbit.

I have been using Fitbit for years. And I previously had nothing against Google, but this new app is horrible and has taken the joy out of using it.  The first Fitbit app change already removed aspects that I liked - gone were the little figure that spun when I reached my hourly goal. Gone was the colorful celebratory firework blast when I achieved my step goal, and gone were the cheerful colors. Those touches helped me feel congratulated and more motivated. But I persisted with Fitbit. Now, the whole design is horrible - boring - so blah! I had everything set up the way I liked it.  Now Google seems to decide what is important and I can't rearrange things to my liking.  The app should show my battery life!! I need that when my watch is charging.  Most of all, I motivated myself by trying to beat my previous scores. I liked to see how I did in previous weeks. This app no longer shows my progress. I liked receiving my emailed progress report.  I miss it now. When it comes to energy, I need color and action like the first Fitbit app gave me.  I want out of this current crap. Its depressing, like a once good relationship gone wrong.

I've lived with the app for a few weeks now, and I can't tell you how much I hate the new app.  It's such a horrible step backwards.  I think fitbit / google has gone insane, by doing this.

Will never buy another fitbit / google fitness product.  Samsung or Apple products will be much better instead.

Google killing the fitbit user base to destroy another valuable business.  Extremely tragic.

The latest FiBit update is terrible. I loved it before. It was easier to use & understand. Please change it back.

I absolutely detest the new app - it looks terrible and is so basic looking. Why is everything so large and use only 2 colours. The old app was aesthetically pleasing with the colours and logos and so much easier to understand and navigate. For example if I do 2 bike rides on the same day, I can no longer swipe right to see them both, I have to look at the whole week. It also misses auto exercise recognition frequently and I have to log it manually so it doesn’t function as well either and then don’t get me started on the battery life indicator moving!
Another frequent problem is my phone call notifications switch off all of the time even though DND is not enabled - it did it previously too but not as often as it does since the update. I have to force close the app all of the time.

What were the developers thinking and who made that decision to roll this out? The previous app got better and better and now it is just the worst I have seen.

Listen to us all please and roll it back or you will lose a lot of customers

Longknown

google should have your words as the screensaver of everyone involved in this debacle of the recent app change so they will never betray the fitbit community again.

I have just had a quick look on their site and yes 👍 it does

Unfortunately no one at Fitbit cares any more. Folks at Google have bigger fish to fry.

Hi @bitfitnik - see posts in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in this forum along with the other unhappy users where you will see more fully the issues.

Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with this version officially. Though there may be some tweaks over time already mentioned there.

Can you roll it back in please - it is terrible!!

This latest version of the App is terrible!
I’m not a fan of the colour choice, the Activities are repeated, with only limited ability to rearrange them, and worst of all, there is no logic to the colour circle target. After you’ve met your goal, the level is completely random, with a tiny tick to suggest you’ve actually achieved it?!! Please apply logic to your design, with the very minimum of clearly showing achievements, and a simple method of ordering each visible target how we wish.
Thank you.

Hi there- yes, it does have a sleep score. It has everything the Fitbit has
and more.

Yes it does. It’s the same metrics that you get with the Fitbit e g light, rem, deep etc.

This is the 2nd Fitbit I’ve owned, loved it at 1st but these updates are horrible. Whoever decided to remove the battery level should be fired!! And the magnetic charger sucks! If they dont fix it I’m moving on to Apple

This is the worst update EVER!  Please roll back to the old format. I used to love my Fitbit. I’m thinking of giving it up and using Apple full time. It drops or doesn’t recognize activities. According to the app I don’t sleep at least one day a week. The battery percent on the screen or anywhere in the app also needs to come back. I see people saying they can see “full-mid-low” but I do not. The new app design is unattractive and hard to follow. With all the complains why hasn’t there been a change back yet? I gave this a fair shot to adjust to but it’s is legit awful.
