Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

The very least they could do is give us a chance to downgrade to the old app while they take their time fixing this new one.
Then keep giving us the option to keep down grading if the new 'new' one doesn't work for us.
It's that simple. You stand to lose more users if you don't.
Ask US what we want. We're the ones that matter.

Good to hear that some of the defects in the new version of the app are going to get corrected (e.g. battery % indication on the today screen). After playing with it a bit more I found that I can't edit total calories burned after a spin class when I log the class start and stop using the watch. The watch calculates calories expended but the accuracy is off as compared to what the machine readout yields. It would be good if you could edit this to reflect the actual calorie burn, even better if the app would learn the correct correlation for you based on user input so you don't have to edit it in the future. AI-ish learning anyone?

I am very disappointed that we're unable to revert back to the old app. The monochrome theme makes it difficult for my eyes to see. I no longer get nice celebratory anything when I hit my goals (the old one had confetti!). It's just overall sad and demotivating and if it doesn't change soon I'm thinking of getting a Garmin since Fitbit has been falling short with actual improved updates for a while now. Total shame.

This is how they roll. This is google dictating what you will live with.

No thanks it’s awful some of the key elements I used are no longer there or not easy to find now to me the app is no longer fit for purpose so I’m off to a competitor . Absolutely gutted have been with Fitbit for over 7 years bye

@Deedot1913 i don’t think Fitbit fully appreciates the impact both the new app fail and also, from my perspective, the Charge5 firmware fail, have had on so many people’s lives. I was all set up getting my health back on track after real downers during the COVID lockdown years with workout and tracker monitoring processes and then in early August when they started their failed Charge5 firmware rollout and associated preparatory app updates …..wham!
I have wasted SO much of my life since then thinking about how to transition all my data somewhere else, what alternatives are available, working out how to keep my tracker limping along and for how long, and checking the bits of information trickling through along with the sheer mountains of comments from unhappy customers landing in my email box from the Fitbit community threads that I am following. It has all been such a total waste of time and a huge disruption to my daily tracking processes. The only reason I haven’t just bailed out already is I have needed the ECG lately (probably stress related, which is in no small part thanks to this added stress) and there are limited other options for that in Australia.
When they alter the way things work for people it’s not just a matter of some over-enthusiastic app nerds updating some game which people have to get used to being run differently, it’s ruining the way people have set up their lives in their fitness and physical and mental health management and it is so disruptive to peoples lives.

I wish they’d swallow their pride and simple return the last interface and then add improvements like dark mode etc. why try and fix new interface that’s so broken. Everyone would love to simple have older app back!

Like everybody else, I really dislike the app update. Would appreciate an option to roll back to the previous version please.

Thank you. This is a serious damage to the health and well-being of customers who bought a product that was something they could depend on.

"I have removed everything Google from my technology"
Welshborg - Have you considered using DuckDuckGo as an alternative to do searches instead of goggle? No tracking.

Same. I don't like it at all! No battery life. The layout is terrible. No color. WTH people. The forum is nicer looking.

Is it me, or do more people think that Google have screwed things up with the new IOS app. It’s both cumbersome and virtually unappealing.

I am not pleased with the new format. The old format was much better. Please bring back the old one.

I do not understand why we should be enthused by this new design. Compared to the original one ( please give it back to us! ) it is ugly and boring. For people like me, only interested in statistics about steps, distances, hart rate and sleep…. and the history of it (since 2016), there should be the choice to go back to the previous Fitbit design, fresh, light, cheerful. PLEASE CAN WE HAVE BACK THE PREVIOUS APP DESIGN???? 🙏🙏🙏

New version is terrible, it’s lost all clarity and colour. I hope it’s a Beta.
I can’t see calories remaining in the day anymore, can’t find battery level percentage and also can’t review easily in one page steps per day from previous days.
Please advise how to return to previous layout?

Sorry but Google really screwed up the Fitbit app. Where are the maps showing my walks and distance? History? The interface is boring and ugly. And not user-friendly. Have used Fitbit since 2016. No more.

So glad to see I’m not the only one that hates the changes to the app. I 100% agree - it now looks like a child designed it. Takes way longer to find anything, and can’t find half of what I want to. I like to scroll back through several prior weeks of ALL the stats to look at every single day’s stats - not just trends. Please just bring back the previous version - I don’t trust Google to improve anything!
