Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

This is getting ridiculous now........i have lost the exercise bars showing if i was in cardio or fat burning zones. If I go for a walk it just tells me the number of steps! Most important feature for me is to know if i am in fat burning stage!

And instead of showing all the exercises for the last few days it just shows one at a time.

Fitbit, when are you going to stop removing features?

If you do not ad back the features that were there when I bought my tracker.....please advise how i can claim a refund on the purchase cost as it is now not fit for purpose.

Absolutely agree. I was wondering what would happen if everyone who is unhappy demanded a refund as this tracker is indeed no longer fit for purpose. It's such a shame as it was absolutely fine before the update.

@SidneyRD  Fair point.
I’d even be happy to receive a credit towards the annual premium subscription I have already paid. It would be nice to receive any goodwill gesture.

Actually I’ve found I now default to Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome for my internet usage because of my negativity towards Google

Dear Santa

All I wanted for Christmas was an update to the IOS ap that restores the heart rate details after exercise display that the Grinch took away during the last IOS "update". The data is available, and I can see it on my computer but having it available on my phone lets me review it immediately after a run while it is still fresh in my mind. Taking features away that were supported when I originally purchased the product is just bad business. Is the plan to offer this back in the future as part of a "premium" subscription so you can charge me for something I already paid for when I purchased the product? Maybe you should consider including some people that actually exercise in your IOS ap development team that understand what features people use before you take them away.

Lord, yes, I wish they’d bring back their old app design. I hate what they’ve done. It’s ugly and much harder to navigate. It’s also less informative and useful.

It proves the point: If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

They fixed it needlessly. They made it worse.

Hi there! SAME!!! And do not be alarmed if your message here is deleted. I have many deleted because of my content to include the name brands that you did here, and it’s not something that is tolerated. BUT, that said, having had a non-android phone user, forever, and equally a Fitbit user forever, I am finally to the point where I am sorely disappointed. So sad, too, because I have LOVED all of my fitbits!! I really have…

Why is no one from Google responding to this feedback?  Is there a way to revert to the way more sophisticated Fitbit original account? I want my old app back. If you have not switched to Google yet do not do it!! I don’t believe for one second that Google did not anticipate the backlash from Fitbit users.  This Google format is just making a mockery of all the work and effort Fitbit put into making this the best fitness app out there. It feels like it’s sliding backwards to becoming just a pedometer!  The app is getting worse on a daily basis. I have to frequently turn my phone off them on for it to update from the previous day to the current day. There are no statistics and it’s just horrible or to look at!!
Where are the Google announcements or are you purposefully wanting to be the worst fitness app out there!!

Best Answer

Agreed!! However, get this, I actually received an email that all of our complaints and such, were being taken under advisement and were going to look into all of the issues we have been speaking of! We shall see…

Sadly, I am still inclined to exit the Fitbit world and move on. Time will tell…

I just read this, if it’s true then the goal is to get rid of Fitbit!!! 😢

”Recently, Google has discontinued Fitbit products in many countries, and despite promising to make fitness “more accessible to more people,” Google has only released one new Fitbit-branded product in 2023.Nov 10, 2023

The only thing that I am using my fitbit for is keeping time. Oh, yes I
also see my incoming calls. These are two things that I have set up with my
phone and not the fitbit app.

So now I keep getting marketing emails offering me discounts on a new Fitbit! I shouldn’t think anyone would want to purchase a new one if they had been following these comments regarding the app!  I feel so sorry for anyone who does!

This whole experience with Fitbit implementing a change just for the sake of a change, confirms a real-world truth that change is not always a good thing.  Now, if this was simply something with which developers wanted to experiment and then subsequently solicit feedback from end users (for which their changes would ultimately impact) in a test case scenario (and told people that is what is happening), then that is both reasonable and appropriate.

But just like a government rolling out a pork program for which no one ever requested, or an employer implement a clearly make-work type of project, there are ripple effects to other facets of the target environment.  Some may believe that well, if you always solicit feedback from users, they will never be happy and you will never be able to fully satisfy them.  That may be true, but as ultimately, I'd rather see either a company or a government remember who their constituents are and reflect what they want in the programs and solutions they receive.  If it doesn't work out, then admit fault and move back to the drawing board.  That's the kind of change that is welcome, not this dictatorial type where a company thinks it can develop something (and by the way, all the developers and support people are in third world countries) and think that just because someone divorced from actual daily users think it's a good idea, doesn't make it so.

It takes a lot of integrity to not just admit mistakes and something new that is not working, but being willing to roll back to something else, which wasn't their idea.  People's egos prevent them from moving ahead with something that is best for their target users, irrespective of whether it is their idea or not.  Fitbit will be losing lots of users over this, if they haven't already.  If Google doesn't care in the interim, they will when it ultimately hits their bottom line.  Remember, we live in an age where both good news and bad news moves fast and a poor reputation can spread like wildfire.  And think about this - Fitbit users would very likely use other Google services.  If this is how Google treats their customers, they will more than think twice as to deciding to use other Google products.

Yes - I have had to use Edge for a lot of my work environment over this last year but I remained a loyal Chrome user otherwise.
BUT - I have been so shocked by googles attitude to our feedback So - voting with my feet - from all things Google

Well, all I can say is I'm glad I decided to check in here. I can see there are 111 pages of people complaining about how horrible the new app redesign is. Nice to see it's not just me. It really is horrible.👎👎

And out of those 111 pages of complaints how many of those have been
answered?

Sadly, I’m finally leaving Fitbit - I was hoping it would improve but that looks very unlikely now.
Dear moderator: the only “Happy stepping” I’ve done in a while is stepping away from Fitbit.
