Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

Just adding to the chorus here. I was just forced to update my app. My watch wouldn’t sync and I had no choice. The new app is terrible. Like what the actual eff. I like my fitbit because it’s small and the battery lasts forever but you’ve taken away pretty much every other feature that I use. My watch is now useless to me for tracking purposes. Gonna go out and buy one of those ridiculous giant watches that start with an A as soon as I can. I don’t think any other product has managed to make me purchase another brand this swiftly so congrats on that!

Hi - I agree with all of what you said, and sadly, I took the plunge yesterday, that I never thought I would, since I have loved my Fitbit over the many years I have had them. BUT, I bought the A watch and am trying to learn it today, I can see the advantage since I have the same brand of phone. But still, I have felt all along, the Fitbit was the most superior tracker, especially too, because of the app. Not any longer…

Zero. Very disappointing...

Why useless redesign? Software developers need jobs too!

I hate it too. And when I say so, my posts are taken down too. I think the data has always been approximate at best, and customer service has always been unhelpful if the respond at all. And now I can no longer trust Gargoyle either! This new system is next to useless to me.

The art department that chose the color scheme for the App should be fired. It’s dark and unreadable now.
see screenshots:
What was wrong with the bright yellow, red , orange. And why are the lines so fat. Perhaps the new owners of Fitbit are trying for a common design, but it’s really less readable and unattractive!
Thanks for putting the battery percentage back in the App. It never should have been removed!

This new design is not intuitive and minimalistic. Everything is hidden behind yet another pay wall. I’ll be switching.

I really hate the new app. The colours are awful, it’s so difficult to tell the difference between the pale brown, pale red and pale green. It’s useless for people who are colour blind and discriminating against those with poor sight. I can’t believe it was signed off as being disability compliant.
The removal of graphs from summaries of workouts means the summary data is useless. I want to see what my max heart rate was and I used to like being able to track high heart rates against where I was on my walks and runs. Maps do sometimes load (usually not) and when they do the colours mean I can’t see when I was in a high heart rate.
Heart rate graphs have been changed such that I can’t see was my higher heart rate was during a workout and it just gives an average.
I used to like scrolling through my activities to find my favourite walks. Now I have to go in each one - even then the maps don’t load.
Challenges have also been removed.
The constant refreshing of steps etc is annoying every time I open the app.
The app was what made the Fitbit so great. The removal of so much functionality and the dire re-design means I have stopped using my Fitbit.
113 pages of complaints suggests I’m not alone. I doubt any action will be taken though so I’ll be leaving Fitbit and will never return after being treated so badly.

Is there a way to return to the old user interface? This one is extremely bad.

What absolutely clinched it for me was when they informed me they were deleting one of my comments here. I was not nasty but I was honest about my dissatisfaction with the redesigned app, like everybody else here.
I could probably forgive them messing up with an unpopular and dysfunctional redesign. They could fix that. But I will never forgive their contempt for their customers. It’s obvious they don’t really care about how unhappy we are with this and even about how many of us are leaving them to go to their competitors.
They could fix poor customer service. But. I don’t think they can or want to fix their arrogance. So, in voting with my feet and leaving too.

Yes - I have been so shocked by the disrespect 😞

The new app is abysmal. Not sure how much they paid to have functionality removed, but they paid too much. If this is an elaborate marketing scheme to get me to switch to the Google product, you just created an antibody to that product. Good luck with screwing people on a new product!

@Purple_wellies , I have been sending all my walks to Strava (private and free account) so they are saves somewhere else. And under the free analysis you can get graphs of elevation gain, heart rate and pace. You can sort of line the, up to work out how you went but it isn’t overlaid over the map. Maybe that is available under their subscription but I don’t remember because I didn’t continue after the free trial period. You can export your Fitbit walks there one by one (if you are patient enough!) so you can browse them there in future, if you abandon the FB sinking ship. Maybe start with your travel ones or the most sentimental ones or something!!!

I can’t believe the app still doesn’t track Net Carbs. It doesn’t even track Sugar Alcohols making it difficult to even do a manual calculation (Carbs minus Fibre and Sugar Alcohols). Very disappointing.
