Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Best Answer

Agreed! Not happy at all. I lost my fit bit friends and I do not like my weight being displayed

i can't find how to do it. im on an apple ipad so should i be able to do it on there? i can see the old versions in the history but can't find how to change it back

Is anyone liking this new version? The design is plain, dull and looks incomplete, unfinished.

Did you do a beta test with a wide variety of your users for their input? Or was this developed in a vacuum?

And what was wrong with the other format?

I don't know about Apple, but if you search for 'older versions of Fitbit for Apple', you should be able to find it, I uninstalled Fitbit app from my Android phone first, then installed an older version dated August 2023. I also made sure that automatic updates for Fitbit was disabled on my phone. Hopes this helps you!

It's awful, not user friendly either to look at or use. Hate it

Agree 100%!  I’ve had nothing but trouble since I updated the app!  It won’t recognize my daily exercise, I can’t switch the main focus on the top to my steps and now it isn’t tracking my sleep. Worst “update” ever. If it’s not fixed soon, I’m switching to an Apple Watch. So sad because I’ve loved my Fitbit.

Hello. I've seen you comment on way top many posts related to the new UI Fitbit has implemented. Don't you think repeating yourself each time is useless? Get the point that it's looks dull and that it has completely lost it's functionality. Are you by chance working for Google or am I getting the wrong message here? You are promoting an app that somehow managed to change its' overall look but still has sections of it using the old design.

Not even a 3 year old would have put more colors! Why did they made it so boring. Don’t they want us to like & use their app?

I Googled “new FitBit app sucks” and found out I am not the only one. Fire your UX designers - the new app is frustrating, not visual, boring and I have to scroll and do extra clicks to get to my data that I have to READ now instead of seeing it. I want the option to use the previous interface.

I have been a loyal customer for many years even though I have gone through many FitBits because they break often. Still, I loved how my data was displayed compare to Apple watch or other fitness trackers and that was a major plus. Next time this FitBit breaks - I am switching. New FitBit app sucks indeed. Fix it.

I agree! It looks so basic - unfinished and I want my battery level back!!!

Best Answer

So terrible. Which makes fitbit pretty much obsolete.

Best Answer

Terrible. I can no longer see my stats at a glance on my phone screen.

Can we have the option to NOT update? This new update is horrible. My eye can’t focus on anything with this drab non-color. I cannot customize to my liking. The update bulks up ‘health’ together. Sure i can turn them ‘off’. I don't want to! I want to move it around to my priority. Not via category! This + button to cover all functions. Nice thought, but more annoying scrolling to get to what i need. Once i woke, I could see my sleep score. Now i have to click and go to the sleep section. Whyyy?
Sad sad sad. Smh

ill go ahead and add my frustrations over the battery life too. It’s needed. Now it’s gone. Sadness.

Totally agree. I cringe every time I look at the screen now. The ability to move different focuses up or down according to personal priorities is the only thing I like. I want more vibrant color, more interesting icons, and a more compact design. I wish they’d asked for input from long time users, and tweaked the previous design based on feedback. Unless things are changed, I’ll be looking for a different watch and platform.

SAME! Sooooooo much!!!!!! 😤

The latest app update is all around terrible. The UI is clunky and dashboard has lost all elements of good visual design. We can no longer see the stats we’re interested in at a glance without the need to scroll and drill down. Please revert to the previous version or bring back (at minimum) customization & the battery level indicator. This feels like a prototype, rather than a polished release.

I was not aware an update was coming and that I had automatic updates on. I am all about constructive criticism, but first, to be frank, I honestly hate this update and it was a very unexpected surprise when I opened the app to find these changes. Downgrades/lost features, unnecessary changes, and poor aesthetic choices in my opinion. Here are some things I've noticed over the past few days with the update:

- Tons of wasted space (i.e. each item on the home screen takes up more space, more empty/white space...I suspect the intention was to have a cleaner look, but it's excessive and I think the previous version had a good balance of items:space without being cluttered or anything. Also, the top icons take up way more space as well), extra/unnecessary lines of text (i.e. the category headers)

- WAY less customization. You can no longer drag items around. Sure, you can move categories up and down, but items can't be moved within or outside of a given category. This is very frustrating. I really loved being able to choose the exact order of items I saw on my screen.

- You can no longer see the charge remaining on device when you pull down/refresh the home screen. I wonder if that was a difficult feature to maintain? Otherwise it is a small but really convenient way to keep track of whether device needs to be charged or not.

- You have to scroll/have entire button in view in order to tap on/select it (before if half an icon was showing, the screen would register you tapping it). This is a more minor detail, but it is incredibly irksome.

- Less color on home screen (again, there wasn't a ton of color in previous version, but just enough I thought). This is one I'm getting more used to and think will ultimately be one I don't mind as much.

- would love to see a dark theme in the future

Since the September update I can no longer manually add exercise. No stopwatch nor dropdown to select an activity. The only item that contains a plus sign to manually add is sleep. This update is a nightmare!

This new App for fitbit is TERRIBLE.   It looks like a child designed this.  Why did you have to change the old App???  This is ridiculous to read.    I cant even tell how full my battery is which is very important to me.   I used to be able to see the percentage of battery I had left, and could judge when I needed to charge it again.   I wish I could go back to the old app which had everything organized and where I wanted it.  Now, I don't even know that I will continue with Fitbit.    Just ridiculous.
