Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!

I really dislike the new dashboard and thought my phone had glitched this morning when I logged in. It's there any way of rolling back to the classic view as other developers do? I have been thinking of changing watches anyway and this will definitely take me away from Fitbit.

I agree. And the colors are awful. I can’t even look at it anymore. I’ve stopped using it. My watch was getting old anyway I think I’ll just buy a different one.

The new redesign is shockingly terrible - it is very hard to navigate and not user friendly at all. I will definitely be leaving Fitbit for good if they don’t provide the option to use the old view instead of this horrendous new view.
----
Thanks for calling them! It’s so terrible. I completely agree with you.
----
Very rude reminder from them. You should have reminded them that your use as a customer keep them in business! I’ll also be leaving soon if they don’t provide an option to revert to the old app view.
----
100% completely agree. I’ll be leaving them if they don’t change it back or give us to option the use the old version view. The new view is not user friendly at all and is very hard to navigate to see my snapshot.

What exactly are Fitbit trying to do by reducing the usability of the APP?
Are you trying to kill Fitbit?
After the roll out of the new app on android I was unable to see the battery level of my tracker and have been unable to edit the type of activity tracked by my Charge 4. It invariably tracks my activity as Sport or Aerobic activity rather than the squash that I play regularly.
Now when I select the edit activity the android app refuses to allow the keyboard to initiate and so I can't edit.
I had been able to go on to my desktop browser and perform the change but now today, you have removed this functionality too.
Seriously Fitbit...stop of I will move to something other than Fitbit/Google.
You are not the only player in the field so stop F*cking with our products

At least you have a battery charge stat indicator on the charge 5.
You now don't have that luxury on earlier models and so don't know when it will die until it does...

I agree. If the kill Fitbit, I will not change to another Google product. I will make sure its another brand not associated with Google.
It a real shame as I had been a huge google fan since its early days...

I HATE the new app. It is cold, bland, uninsightful, and just awful. Why, oh why was it changed ?

The app is worthless now. The UI is awful. Not motivating, not easier to read (as all the paid articles are saying), not even half as good as the old one. Why change something to look OLDER? It’s not modern (as all the paid article writers claim), it’s just plain ugly. And it amazes me that a FITNESS app would make something look so unappealing. Fitness is already tough for most people, why take away all the charm that made the app encouraging for health and exercise? I’ve already invested a lot of money in Fitbit but as soon as my newest watch is defunct, I’ll be switching to a new brand. Garmin gets good reviews and the app looks beautiful from what I can see…(also has DARK MODE…which I can’t believe Google didn’t add in this awful update!)
Anyone else have plans to change brands? Any ideas or preferences for who to switch to?
Is there a way to roll back the app? I updated before knowing about these awful changes. 😞

I HATE the new look. There’s no way to move the icons in order used, can’t delete period tile (no need for it) and it no longer shows things I actually use such as sleep history, and someone mentioned battery life no longer shows, and it no longer has a nice little graph of stats which was helpful. Also it seems to have wiped out my previous data. I HATE it. I’m all for change if it’s for the better, this is definitely not. Considering leaving Fitbit.

Does anyone else wonder if Google is actually TRYING to destroy Fitbit on purpose? I have no idea why they’d do that after acquiring it, but there seems to be a disturbing trend of companies shooting themselves in the foot these days for no apparent reason. 🤷:female_sign:

I don't seem to be able to manually add an exercise session anymore 😭
Also I can no longer track a run on my phone. The distance was more accurate on the phone than the tracker.
So all in all I have fewer facilities - so why would I like it 😡

Please bring back the battery life icon in the fitbit app! Yes it is oh so handy on your actual fitbit…if you can actually see it! It is always green until it is dead. I haven’t mastered it yet but I am trying to use the magnifying app on my phone to read the battery life on my fitbit…the fitbit does not stay lit-up long enough for me to focus the magnifying app🤷🏻:female_sign:

The app kicks my devices off every day. I have to go in every morning to find my devices and have lost data for days that I didn’t sync.

On my Home Screen, I have the sleep icon as the central entity. I want to switch it to the steps icon as the main one. How do I flip them ?

No single human nor group of humans could foul up a perfectly good APP this bad. It must have been done by AI.
Used the old one for years simple, easy to read, total information now it's a mess.

Please go back to the original app. I hate the new one. It is not user friendly.

That’s exactly what they are doing. They bought Fitbit for the customers data, not for the products. They think that these customers will eventually move over to Google watches (which is what they’ll be focusing on from now on), but haven’t taken into account that after this update people like me will probably never buy a Google product again.

The only thing I cared to track was my steps. As of yet I cannot find a way to view a listed history of each day. It used to just show a vertical list of each day going downward, and now that feature is either gone or well hidden.

The new version is awful looking.what in the world motivated Fitbit to go to such a rudimentary look.
I now have good reason to start using my Apple Watch.

Besides the fact that I have already mentioned that the “new app” really sucks, there is something that I noticed as well: there is no “calories left for the day” in the “front screen” (a big incentive/support for you to control your food intake!)
