Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

New UI is HORRENDOUS. Can't stand it. Was clearly tested by 5 year olds.

Agree. New interface is awful.

Users should be allowed to select their app version. I’m lost in the update 😣

You must have seen by now the hundreds of complaints about the new app, like the hundreds of others, I consider it to be a retrograde step, I'm trying to refrain from saying it is rubbish,  Is there any hope that we will be able to return to the old app?

If not, like most of the others, this will be that last Fitbit I will buy, all of a sudden the Apple watch seems much more attractive; I don't want o leave but can't cope with this redesign.

I totally agree! I am only interested in my step numbers and have been logging them for the past 7 years. If I can't get the weekly step totals I will be moving to another fitness tracker!

I hate the new app redesign.  It’s difficult to look at all exercise stats without scrolling through the entire screen.  In addition, where is the battery icon???  Please to the next update!!!

I loved my charge 5.New app is terrible and data that could be quickly viewed is restricted. And, battery level …. How could you think removing that would be an upgrade. The old app was very useful. In a competitive market, this was a very bad decision. I loved my charge 5, but now I am motivated to start looking at other brands.

I absolutely hate the new layout of the app. Can’t organize the way I want, can’t see the battery level and the colours are awful. It used to be great. Once my current Fitbit dies on me that will be it for me not going to buy another one with such a terrible app.

Agree - how do we change back?

This new version is absolutely appalling!!!

After 6 years, the Versa 2 is now in the bin and will never see the light of day ever again.

Come on, Fitbit. All these users cannot be wrong!

I think this could be your "Ratner" moment.

I couldn’t agree more! The new app is frustrating and controlling.

FitBit has decided what my Home Screen looks like, totally not relative to me, even though I own the device!!

I am 71 years old, why in the world would I want menstrual cycle on my screen??????  That’s just naming one thing I don’t need want (or had evident) before their ridiculous revised app.

When I called customer service I was told once the app was installed I couldn’t change anything!

Of course, FitBit is owned by Google whose main mission is to know everything about us and control what we see.

if I wasn’t on a fixed income I’d ditch this device and go with an Apple Watch.

Totally disappointed in IOS app update. It was much easier to place the things that were important to me. Hate the giant letters, hate not having the hourly steps in convenient location. This gives less information.  I realize updates are an integral part of these devices, but these just made things messy and unfriendly!

I prefer the old app. Can I switch back? This app doesn’t show me when I’m in fat burn zone or cardio or peak zone. I liked the way the different colors showed up for the different zones as I walk on my treadmill. Also, my profile pic is gone and I can’t find how to adjust stride length.

Agreed. There's another very long thread on this much hatred update.  If they don't change it back I'll be looking for someone else too.  I'm sad because I actually get a free fitbit premium with my insurance, but this update renewed the functionality useless for me. I can't see my live bpm smile forming out. I cant see what my highest bpm was while working out, only a graph.  I have a versa 2 which is not in grrat shape and was going to purchase something new around Black Friday, but I guess it won't be a new fitbit.  I'd like to think the company would take these comments into consideration, but . .

I don't like the new look and would have preferred an option to update or keep the old look. However, having said that , I am trying to deal with what is available. My biggest complaint is not being able to easily see my step count history by week. I like to gauge my activity by the step counts, not percentages. the old screen was so easy to see what steps I did on a weekly basis and it seemed to go back for eons. I feel like data has been lost, I know it went back further than January of this year. I could see easily week by week the step counts and scroll easily to see into last year. This is too much drilling down to see figures and nowhere can I get the counts, only averages. Can you put that screen back in here somewhere please..

How do I get the old app back?? Omg this update is the worst! Looks like I’ll be going back to Apple

I agree. I am not happy with the new app. Have you tried the icon in the upper left corner? I brings up the equipment connected to Fitbit. I have a Luxe= and when I click it,  it at least says the Battery is Medium or whatever it is. Not a percentage but at least a clue .

Hello @Mommysouthpaw

The Fitbit team is already aware of the omission of the % battery in the new app. We are hoping that this much used and needed info will be re-instated soon.

Regarding the showing of calories, you can remove it from the Today page.

It does take a bit to understand how to make changes in the new app.

To make changes to the "Focus" section:

  • Tap on the pencil icon in the upper right (below your picture/icon).
  • On the Customize Today, swipe left to see all the options: Get More Active, Sleep better, Manage weight, Manage Stress, Improve heart health, and Custom preset. Other than the Custom preset, each of the focus options have specific metrics that you will see on the Today page.
  • If you choose the Custom preset, tap on the pencil icon on the left side to select which 4 metrics you want to see on your Today page.
  • Swipe up and use the toggle to turn on/off the metrics you want to see on your Today page in each section.
  • You can also rearrange the order of the sections by using the small up & down arrows on the right side. At this time, it is not possible to re-arrange the tiles in each section.
  • When you have completed setting up your Today page, tap on Save in the upper right

You should now see the metrics on your Today page the way & order you selected them. Like the old version, when you tap on a metric in the Focus section, it will open to the corresponding page as does tapping on each metric below the Focus section.

Since you have specific stats that you prefer to track, the Custom preset may be the best choice for you.
