My step count isn't the same on my app as my challenge

I've recorded some walking via the track option on the app so I guess this is not syncing

Hi, @Mbf, I am guessing the confusion may be arising because you are using MobileRun, not Mobile Track.  Mobile Track is a feature designed for people who don't have Fitbits -- the app uses the phone's capabilities to count your steps, and steps from this do count toward challenges.  Mobile Track does not creat a map.  It just counts steps.

If you were using the app on the phone to get a map of your walk, you were using MobileRun, not Mobile Track.  In that case it is important to wear your Fitbit at the same time.  MobileRun uses your phone's GPS to give you a map of the walk and your Fitbit to count the steps.  If you didn't have your Fitbit your steps wouldn't be counted for the Challenge.

Could that be what is happening in your case?

Hi, @Mbf, only steps actually detected by your Fitbit will count towards challenges, so it sounds like that is why your nubers are different.

That sounds like it might be th case, I didnt even know there were the two options?

It doesnt make sense to me that you can track it on the phone but you need the fitbit too, when you get steps recorded without it.

So I guess you cant use mobile track when you take the fitbit off or have a fit bit?

I take it off when I'm mowing the grass or using garden machinery due to vibrations etc

I think it is fine to take your Fitbit off when you are using garden machinery and track via your phone. Just be aware that any steps counted will be available on your personal dashboard, but not on your friends leaderboard or in challenges. If you are mapping a run, just be sure a
so to wear your Fitbit.
