My app reads the error “Goldengate.-CoapRequestError error 0. when I try to “get started” connecting my card to the app.

Thanks for the details shared in your post. I appreciate your efforts and recommend trying the following:
1. Force close the Fitbit app and then, on your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on after 10 seconds.
2. Perform a restart on device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
3. Restart your mobile device.
