I've had my Charge 2 since 2017. I have it set to track location only while using the app. Ever since I updated my iOS to 14 and updated the FitBit app, I am CONSTANTLY told I need to turn on location tracking. This never happened until now and I can't make it stop. It is so frustrating to have it stop tracking my routes if I open the app and don't say "No Thanks" every single time it asks. What can I do to make it track my routes when I am using the app without requiring Always to be turned on?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Marmie127.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your feedback regarding the location access message you started receiving after updating to iOS 14 and the Fitbit app. Thank you for providing the additional details, I understand how you are feeling and I am glad to assist you. Currently it's required to have the location services set to "Always" on your iOS device whenever you're going to use MobileRun or Connected GPS. If you're not going to use those features, you can leave the location services off or while using the app as that will not affect the way your Fitbit syncs and communicates with the Fitbit app. I recommend confirming if your Fitbit app is updated to the latest version as updates come with new features and bug fixes: How do I update the Fitbit app?
I am sorry if this causes you any inconvenience. To share additional feedback or if you want the features to be improved, feel free to visit our Feature suggestion board. Thanks for the reply. This was a really dumb change to the app. I HATE IT. It worked just fine with "Only while using the app" for over 3 years. I sure wish there were a way to revert to an older version of the app. The Charge 2 properly records my routes with it set to "Only while using the app," but I keep having to click "No Thanks" every time I look at the app during my exercise. This is a bug, not a feature. If I don't click "No Thanks" it stops recording my route. Ridiculous. Why do I need to submit a feature suggestion to get a BUG fixed?

I agree with you @Marmie127. It does not appear that Fitbit has any intention of changing this, as it has been discussed in multiple threads here.
No other iOS application that I've used requires location access "always" to function properly while using the app. It is obvious that Fitbit is mass collecting location data of individuals.
