Unable to Search for Food (or bar code scan for food)

Today if I click on the search bar to find a food it only allows me to create a custom food - no search results appear no matter what I type. This is the case before and after updating. I also deleted and reinstalled the app.

I’m having the same food search problem as everyone else. Any news yet Fitbit on what’s happening?

Same here. The bar code scanner is also gone. A lot of my recent foods did not load. And the search just ain't searching. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Logged out and in. Restarted my phone. Nothing helped.

From the comments it looks like a worldwide problem. I’m a T1Diabetic and it’s a real pain to find a substitute app. Fitbit food tracking is the simplest and easiest app for the purpose. Google bought Fitbit but may not want to support legacy users in favor of their Pixel related products.

Mine started last night. Finally it said Fitbit was down for maintenance.  Today I am experiencing the same problem.

Happening for me as well. Tried everything from clearing the cache to reinstalling the app. Would really appreciate an ETA on this.

Same, I noticed it after I tried the new preview. It's totally frustrating since I value that greatly. Updated. Reinstalled everything.

This has been happening to me for two days. I have tried the following today with no success.

  • Cleared the app cache.
  • Forced stopped and restarted the Fitbit Android app on my phone.
  • Restarted the phone.
  • Uninstalled and then installed the current version from the Play Store.
  • Repaired my Charge 6 with the phone, which created another problem. The scan icon disappeared.

I'm at a loss as to what i can try now.

The scan icon was already gone when I tried those attempts.

It's an app issue and support have no estimate on a time frame, could be days, could be months, they wouldn't say. It won't work again till an update is released.

Now they have removed the food section altogether.

I'm having the same issue. Even uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone. Still won't work.

I am in Canada, and I am having the same issue with both the scanning barcode function and the search function. I can only add food that is already in my history. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. This started happening about 20 hours ago.

This is the case today for me, when I deleted and reinstalled the app, my barcode scanner disappeared.

My bar scanner doesn't even show up as an option and when I go into the settings to set my country, it reads N/A

Doing the same with mine. Can't log anything unless I have it in 'frequent' or 'recent' or create a custom food. It won't scan the barcodes either. What a PITA.
