Unable to Update and Sync Alta to iOS

I just bought an Alta today and am not able to update it or sync it to my iPhone.  The error that shows up is FBBluetoothErrorDomain error 3).  I have the most recent version of the FitBit app.

I just got mine today too, and am having the same issue.  I can track calories and it tells me what I've burned, but not counting my steps.  Also, when I tap on it, it does not display the screen
