Unable to add friends in the app.

My wife and I are sitting next to each other trying to figure out how to add each other as friends with the iOS app. Our emails are not recognized. Neither of us appears in the others contacts in the app (even though we are both in each others contacts...obviously). We do not want to connect to Facebook.

 

Nothing we do will find the other in order to add as a friend. I feel like I'm losing my mind. Why is this difficult?

Since when are you experiencing this issue? Have you experienced it when trying to add other friends other than your wife? This situation seems very odd but I would like to provide you some suggestions:

 

  1. Log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in, this will refresh the information so you can search for your wife once again.
  2. Once you type in her email, ask her to check her email inbox to find a Fitbit email with the invitation. Also ask her to check the spam folder. 
  3. Try to add your wife using the online Dashboard by going to the Friend Section and click on Invite by Mail. Once again ask your wife to check her email inbox and spam folder.
