I previously had the app downloaded on my iPhone 6 18 months ago, but I am now trying to reinstall it but it won’t download? It looks like it will work but then just goes back to the cloud symbol.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that the issue you're describing is more related to the App Store and not the Fitbit app itself. Nevertheless, I would like to suggest you to restart your phone and try to download the app again, make sure you have a strong WiFi connection or enough cellular data and that there's no VPN enabled on your network.
