Unable to install Fitbit app.

I have a 8plus iPhone with iOS 11.2.1 and can’t get the Fitbit app to install. I go to the App Store, find the app FITBIT, INC.APP, click “Get” and then “INSTALL”, the app starts to load, then I get a pop up message:

“Verification 

Required

Before you can make purchases, PayPal must send an SMS code to your phone 

(9••) •••-0580 to verify your account. carrier fee may apply. 

Continue

Cancel”

I click “Continue” and the screen goes blank, the app stops loading, and when the screen returns to the app in a few seconds, the app is not loading and the word “Get” is back like I never tried to load it.  Any ideas?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, at this moment I would like to ask you for a screenshot of the message you're receiving when trying to get the Fitbit app, as the Fitbit app does not need to be purchased or connect to PayPal to be downloaded. Having the screenshot will help me investigate this further.

I appreciate you have sent a screenshot to me, I'll make sure to forward it to our team so they can take a better look at it. In the meantime, I would like to ask you if you're trying to download another app with "Fitbit" on it other than the following:

Please note that the Fitbit app is a free app and does not have internal purchases that will require you to verify or sign up to a Paypal account. Nevertheless, I'll make sure to forward your report.
