Unable to log in to CH2 after ios12.2 update

My CH2 stopped syncing two days ago and I tried all kinds of things on my phone; turned it off, turned off bluetooth, turned off wifi, nothing worked (did not know I could do anything on the CH2 itself). Finally I deleted the app but when I tried to reinstall it, i could not log in.  it says "Network- bit.HTTPError error1". What do I need to do to log in to set up my CH2 again, and try to sync it? I have the iphone X with ios 12.2.

Here's a thread that appears to be same problem, with a solution.

Error (networkbitkit.HttpError error 1) when trying to log in.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
