Unable to receive Notifications on Versa.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have an iPhone 8.  Although my notifications are turned on through the Fitbit app, I am not receiving new text messages.  I often will get replies if I have texted someone and they text back but not original texts sent to me.  I have shut down the fitbit and tried restarting it.

Additionally, every time I charge my Fitbit, I have to shut down my phone completely and restart in order to receive any new notifications.  Help!!

Hello @Babs17, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around. Smiley Happy

I'll be happy to assist you with the issue affecting Notifications on your Fitbit device. Tell me, which device are you currently using? Since when have you been affected by this issue?

Now, for starters, I would like to suggest you to reset Notifications through the Fitbit app so your phone can establish new connection with your device:

- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.

- Force-close the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app.

- Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications. You will receive the following Pop-up:

- Then, once you tap on Set Up, the app will begin setting up your tracker with the Bluetooth on your phone, which will prompt the next pop-up:

- Tap Pair

- Once you get back to the tracker options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.

Additionally, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and Settings > Notifications > Messages and check that the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Thanks! I just walked through the steps you suggested and will see what happens.

This has been happening since I've had the Versa which was in June.

I am having the same issues. It was working correctly until this last week, when my Versa completely died and needed to be charged from 0%. I have gone through the steps you mentioned above and am still having issues.

Any additional help help would be great.

I went through all the steps you suggested in your previous post. Notifications were coming in. I charged my Versa again and the same thing happened...notifications not coming in until I shut my phone down and turned it back on. When the notifications do come in, they are old ones that I’ve already received. However, new ones do also come in.

I have the same problem. I still cannot receive text notification. I also walked through step by step, still not working. I only had my versa for 3 months. Disappointed!☹️

Hello @Jherzen and @Bkeili23, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you too @Babs17, thanks for taking the time to reply. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have already tried the troubleshooting steps I've provided earlier. At this moment I would like to suggest you to press down the button on the left of your Versa and make sure Notifications are ON. If they are and as you have already checked the settings on your phone and restarted Notifications through the Fitbit app my best recommendation would be setting up your Versa as a new device to reset the connection between the watch and the phone. Don't worry, all the information already synced to your account won't be deleted.

To set up your Versa as a new device:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
